We can't expect every GOP to be like Trump, Mitch, Cruz, Graham....

There is bound to be one or two outliers like Romney or McCain.... not crazy, dumb, or corrupt.

Honestly, this goes back a long way. Decades actually.

The Republican message was never popular with ordinary working class folks, so the party exploited wedge issues to defeat the Democrats, peeling off as many working class voters as possible in each election cycle.

These were always separate minor factions supporting the Republicans, but they helped the party put across their real agenda, which was basically a pro-business one.

The Republicans collected a large assortment of disaffected common folks, who as their numbers grew began to realize that the party didn't really work for them. Trump took advantage of that resentment, he harnessed it.

We see a lot of people claiming that they 'took over' the Republican Party. They didn't, the old guard is still in charge, still funding the candidates and pushing their own pro-business/pro super-rich agenda, while the rank and file are fixated on that shiny object, but they don't actually realize it.

No, what I want to know is why that lying and mentally ill scumbag in the Oval Office doesn't do us and his own party a favor and simply resign.

His explanation for what happened in the Ukraine is contradictory, evasive, and a pack of lies.

Spare this country further trauma. Resign, Trump.

Oh good grief. Trump is the rino. He was always a democrat until he realized he could never sway the majority to vote for him. So he decided to fool conservatives by becoming one of them.

So...now you're not a democrat anymore? After all, you said that democrats have "a bit thicker skin".

Please tell me what crime Trump has committed? I am very curious to know of what charge you think he has committed that could result in his removal from office?

So it never crossed your mind, it's because the president has broken the law? Currently he has 10 counts of obstruction and increasing, 2 counts of campaign funds violations (what caused Cohen to be in jail), Taking foreign contributions, emoluments violations, and coercing foreign governments to help his campaign. That doesn't address his bank frauds and lord knows what else. He has exposed national secrets, endangered the lives of our agents, damaged our standing in the world, turned his backs on the Kurds (one of the foremost forces against Isis), was the direct cause of 4 American soldiers getting killed in the Congo.... where were the benghazi people for that?

from a policy stand point he promised to increase manufacturing - jobs have been vacating the shores at an alarming rate,
Decrease the deficit- he increased it 50%
reduce the debt - he increased it 4T
kill off Obama care and implement a better health care - while he has taken many shots at Obama care and may kill it off, he has no solution for health care
Said he would protect Social Security and Medicare - and has proposed 500M slash to their budgets - the republicans like to lie to the people and call these entitlements, but they are programs we hall pay for on each check. SS is very solvent, though they have stolen 2T from the trust fund - your money they have stolen. It has trillions in it

reduce border crossings - he has had the largest increase and seen far more than we can handle, but no mind he has given his friends $750/ day for each person they warehouse.... that's why they don't want to give the kids back.
he said he supported DOCA but has killed it
Promised more coal jobs -for an industry that is all but dead,no improvement
promised trade wars which he delivered, now we have to bailout the farmers for the second year for 24 B and he has had the record in farm foreclosures.
He has increased the amount of radiation that is acceptable in your food (radiation is deadly) we have fewer inspectors to tell you your seafood is irradiated because of Fukashima
The water is far dirtier, as is the air, the endangered species act was eliminated, as was the website that warned of people that mistreated dogs - the gov use to track them to keep some sick people from getting dogs - note he is the only president not to have a dog.

He said he would hire the best people - He has turned over 500 people in his time in office, Do we need to talk about how many of his staff have served or are serving in prison? He holds the record of lies. He is avoiding having people respond to subpoenas (more obstruction)... what is he hiding?
He calls good Americans traitors and spies - The old adage is "He who calls name, usually answers the same"
He talks about Bidens son and the special deals with no evidence) yet wants to ignore Kushner and his deals with the Saudis, His daughter is exempted from the tarriffs for her China imports, the corruption goes on and on....

The electorate apparently wasn't terribly impressed.

You left out another quality Democrats love about these outliers .... they fail to win the presidency. Not to mention how Democrats re-write history to make it seem they really respect and admire these outliers. I recall some of the adjectives used to describe these two when they ran against BO .......
