They just put those in the name to attract Democrats and Socialists. They were really actually righties.

You can call DSA democratic (or socialist) (ROTFL) but that's just a name. Democratic Socialists were as Democratic as Democratic Kampuchea, or the Deutsche Democratic Republic, or the Democratic National Committee.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is an organization of democratic socialist, social democratic and labor-oriented members in the U.S. The DSA has its roots in the Socialist Party of America and is the largest socialist organization in the United States.

Independent of the Sanders effect, polling indicates that Americans under age thirty have been warming up to the idea of socialism since the Obama administration and the Occupy movement.

I wonder if the young really understand socialism?

Whenever you see someone "warming up" to the idea, or even full on supporting, Socialism, the only thing you need to do is ask them: "What is Socialism"?

Based on their answer, you can then ask them another very simple question - and watch them back themselves into a corner, all by themselves.

DSA is exactly what they say they are: true believer socialists who just want to attain socialism through the democratic process.

Next time do at least just a thimble-full of research before posting.

No one should ever again take anything that you say seriously, if ever they did. You are pretty much in your own fantasy world. Good luck in there, and please, do try to remember that you are a living, breathing organism on the planet earth. When the king of the potato people comes on his flying carpet, don't go with him. He isn't real.

Republicans has called any progress in public programs as Socialism.

A public safety net is Socialism in their eyes.

Medicare, Medicaid, military, social security, fire department, police, library, post office etc etc etc etc are Socialism in their eyes.

I think those things are GREAT... thats why I love Socialism*...

* Even though I know that is not Socialism.. but the Rightwingers have misused the word for 70+ years now... Crying wolf to many times you know... the younger genereation are not afraid of Medicare, Medicaid, Military, Social security etc etc etc... they love it and want more of it.

Actually, no, right wingers are not who are more likely to misuse the term.
Quote:
The current research shows that Republicans are significantly more likely to view socialism as government ownership of the means of production than are Democrats and are more likely to describe socialism in derogatory terms. For their part, Democrats are modestly more likely to view socialism as government provision of services and benefits. Democrats are also more likely to say they don't have a view of socialism than Republicans.
~The Meaning of "Socialism" to Americans Today
Actual definition of the word:
so·cial·ism * /ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/ * noun
*a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the government or the community as a whole.
