He pardoned Arpaio before he was sentenced.

But yes, I’m sure Trump will receive counsel that this would be a terrible time to pardon Stone.

If Trump pardons Roger Stone, it will be political suicide. I truly think that it would be a turning point to where some Republican lawmakers say "I can't do this anymore" and split from Trump.
Republicans celebrate Roger Stone...as long as Trump tells them too.

It's hard to imagine the GOP standing behind what they have heard from Nunes and Jordan and all concerning the treason...yet finally saying "With Stone pardon, enough is enough".

Stone is a bit player in the scheme of things. If the GOP approves of Bill Barr flying to Ukraine and now running around doing everything he can as a corrupt admins personal attorney (instead of the US Justice Dept), it's unlikely their depravity has a bottom.

We already know they approve of paying off porn stars for election fraud, puzzy grabbing, steering money to his own businesses, etc

If the GOP is going to hurt at the polls Stone will have nothing to do with it.

Stone will be pardoned after the election, as he should be.

Too late. First come, first served.

Exactly my position.

Hillary Clinton and others around her broke the law via the classified email server AND via obstructing justice (acid wiping the server and deleting emails even though she was under subpoena).

Until she and others are held to account and the law means the same thing for everyone, I support and fully expect POTUS to pardon most of his associates who have received convictions out of the sham of the Mueller investigation. Note, those people who were caught up in the Mueller investigation for completely separate crimes (like the financial crimes going back decades for the one guy whose name I'm forgetting), you can leave them in jail. But others who were dragged through the mud and whose only crime was lying to investigators about perfectly lawful activity (in which national security was not at risk unlike with the Hillary email server), they should be pardoned. Note, don't expect POTUS to pardon anyone involved in this crap before the 2020 election. But, win or lose the election, I expect pardons after the fact.

Politically, it will provide him with a good deal of cover from his critics on this, not that he should or will really care very much about what those people think.
Really not a good look for Trump, especially an election year.

He will probably not pardon any of these people until after the election next November. But once the vote is counted and his victory is confirmed, then there will be nothing stopping him.

There would be nothing stopping him regardless of the election outcome.
