Trump never mentioned "corruption" on the phone call with Zelensky (not "Zellinsky", Mr. President). He did mention the Bidens, specifically, more than once. He allegedly mentioned Burisma, specifically, as well. He didn't mention "corruption" on the White House lawn when talking about who Ukraine and China should investigate - he did mention "the Bidens" multiple times.
I was reading the July 25 call transcript the other day. You know what phrase I noticed that Zelensky himself used? “Drain the swamp.” He was referring to what needed to be done in his own country. Later in the conversation, Zelenski actually requested President Trump to provide him any additional information he could to help in the investigation of Burisma.
In this context, it is obvious that “drain the swamp” means rooting out corruption in the Ukraine. And no one disputes that Burisma is a very corrupt company.
Whether or not Ukraine is corrupt has nothing to do with the subject of the impeachment. The impeachment is about the Trump administration's interactions with the Ukrainian government. Hunter is not affiliated with/connected to either government in any way.
Cute story, but really just another attempt at deflection. Does Trump have the right as the president to ask another country to investigate corruption-especially when that corruption may involve not just US citizens, but a US vice president (and likely president-it is unlikely Biden went behind Obama's back on this)? Or did he do so to impact a Democratic primary nomination (which would be dumb-Biden is dumber than a box of rocks and is an easier competitor than Lizzie. Lizzie is no smarter, but gets the sympathy support for having a vagina)? In the first scenario, it is obvious that not only does he have the right, but he has the obligation to do so. Which means that understanding if there was evidence, or even a strong casual connection, to corruption is fair game in the trial.
All the testimony given so far in the inquiry has been around a public announcement of an investigation into Burisma and the Bidens, specifically. How does a public announcement of investigation help Ukraine battle their corruption?
Yes, a public sign that they are serious about fighting corruption past, present, and future....again, nothing wrong with that. If these things are done behind closed doors, it's easier to walk them back. If you publicly show that you are going to go after the corruption, it's a more serious signal of your intentions.
Again, you are forced to find a mind reader to PROVE that the intent wasn't the best interest of the US, anyone can make up conspiracy theories and baseless allegations, but those kinds of things can't be acted on.

I really resent your characterization of Adam Schiff as as a liar. Your loyalty to a man who would use you and then not pay you boggles the mind. We've seen loyal Americans all come forward and fill in the gaps of what may be characterized as an extortion scheme to give nothing more than talking points to a man who risked a Russian win in Eastern Ukraine.
Accuse your enemy of what you are guilty of. To men such as you the truth is just another lie waiting to be uncovered.
What is missing from Dems and their supporters is the big picture. As we all heard from all the witnesses, there appears to be no issue with the present state regarding the ability for Ukraine to defend themselves. Better than when Obama was in charge. Obama, Hillary, Kerry and the other cast of characters involved from the State Department, NSC, Diplomats, Foreign relations experts etc. where unable to deliver. They failed.
So now we have success by this President's Administration. Unorthodox, alarming, disturbing, improper and nearly any other negative opinion label has been out out there. The Lefty MSM smells blood in the water and has lifted the baton to up the drum beat.
However POTUS got the job done. With all the actors, the corruption there, the variables, little to no help from the Democrats , success was achieved. Why wasn't one of the "" expert " witnesses asked about the reality of what would there be had POTUS NOT been able to put together this plan ?
The DEms are so focused on digging out for some potential negative issues, Impeachable offenses, maybe crimes, they have completely forgotten what Foreign Policy Affairs are about. That is a win/win for both sides.
Question: Even with the alleged shenanigans are we better off , is the Ukraine better off now, or before ?
Adam accuses POTUS of being corrupt. I say his unique experience and persona , his methods , the complete package allows him to venture into the Viper Pit that exists in these situations and walk away with a win/win.
If only the Democrats were any way near the ability to do that.
I can't convince you but whenever I ask Trumpies what work he's actually done you say, "The economy." And that's all you can come up with unless you mention the wall which Congress didn't approve. Guess what? The economy stimulates itself for the most part. The only way POTUS actually makes a difference is if he puts a specific policy in place to change it somehow. Private employers hire and fire.
