Well then you are suggesting that there was absolute justification for Trump's actions unless you have a mind reader that can definitively testify that his intent was other than what he says it was.
If Ukraine was corrupt, then it would be in the interest of the US to get them to prove they intend to clean up their act in exchange for aid....just like the US has done numerous times throughout history.....which by the way is the excuse for why what Joe Biden did was acceptable.

All the testimony given so far in the inquiry has been around a public announcement of an investigation into Burisma and the Bidens, specifically. How does a public announcement of investigation help Ukraine battle their corruption?
Trump never mentioned "corruption" on the phone call with Zelensky (not "Zellinsky", Mr. President). He did mention the Bidens, specifically, more than once. He allegedly mentioned Burisma, specifically, as well. He didn't mention "corruption" on the White House lawn when talking about who Ukraine and China should investigate - he did mention "the Bidens" multiple times.
He waited until after Joe Biden announced his candidacy this year before he became concerned about "corruption" in Ukraine. Interesting timing.

I will add that the scope of the trial is limited to the Articles of Impeachment. Remember that the House is acting as a grand jury, and based on the evidence from the hearings will make detailed articles of impeachment. Those articles (akin in indictments) will then be sent to the Senate. Unless the articles involve Mr. Biden, I very much doubt that the Chief Justice will allow irrelevant testimony.
The chief justice is not a potted plant. He has a role to play, specifically set forth in the Constitution.
I am fine with anyone who was involved being required to testify. This thing has more legs, and seems to go deeper into the swamp, than an octopus.

An FBI official is under criminal investigation after allegedly altering a document related to 2016 surveillance of a Trump campaign adviser, CNN reported Thursday. The explosive finding is expected to be part of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's review of the FBI's effort to obtain warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act on Carter Page, a former Trump campaign aide, CNN reported.

What is missing from Dems and their supporters is the big picture. As we all heard from all the witnesses, there appears to be no issue with the present state regarding the ability for Ukraine to defend themselves. Better than when Obama was in charge. Obama, Hillary, Kerry and the other cast of characters involved from the State Department, NSC, Diplomats, Foreign relations experts etc. where unable to deliver. They failed.
So now we have success by this President's Administration. Unorthodox, alarming, disturbing, improper and nearly any other negative opinion label has been out out there. The Lefty MSM smells blood in the water and has lifted the baton to up the drum beat.
However POTUS got the job done. With all the actors, the corruption there, the variables, little to no help from the Democrats , success was achieved. Why wasn't one of the "" expert " witnesses asked about the reality of what would there be had POTUS NOT been able to put together this plan ?
The DEms are so focused on digging out for some potential negative issues, Impeachable offenses, maybe crimes, they have completely forgotten what Foreign Policy Affairs are about. That is a win/win for both sides.
Question: Even with the alleged shenanigans are we better off , is the Ukraine better off now, or before ?

That would be awesome-and why I've been saying that Trump should support this going to the Senate for trial. At that point he can depose anyone he needs to for his defense and expose the whole swamp. Would really like to see Schiff compelled to tell the truth for once-and see him prosecuted if he perjures himself.
The Senate makes the rules and can overrule Roberts with a simple majority vote about anything they want. The Senate does not "sit silently" apparently you've been lied to and are too young to remember the last Senate trial.
I think the point is that they sit attentively.
This is not like ordinary sessions of the Senate, they act as jurors and will use regular order if they want to change a rule.
I have sat on ordinary juries a few times, and we always sat attentively and did not speak out of turn. I can't imagine the dignity of the Senate being disrupted by any of them. So when they are attentive, they will be essentially silent and listening.
