If you have a problem with the orders of the President of the United States as a subordinate US government/military officer, your recourse is to resign. Not to be insubordinate.
This just goes to show how deep the "resistance" goes.

As a declared "Trump-Hater" I actually agree with Prospect^. I think the POTUS orders were wrong, and ultimately are another way he is undermining American Greatness, but unfortunately he is the CIC, and the right move would have been to resign, or to at least use your chain of command. Even with an incompetant, unAmerican, Russia-loving, self-worshipping POTUS, he should not have gone against orders the way he did.

No, "the military" isn't, just a turd that disgraced his position and the Navy over the fact that he disagreed with his superiors and refused to act in a dignified manner said that after being rightfully fired.... and had he been in the military he'd have been facing a court marshal for his actions.

No, the military isn’t, although I’m sure some are upset that are in leadership. It was the Secretary of Defense that insisted on Spencer’s ouster. Spencer jumped the chain-of-command, a huge no-no.
