Add to that the Great Recession and Wal-Mart (single biggest importer) and you have the NEED for cheap goods in the USA to keep the party going. We may not be able to pay the rent and medical costs but we can buy some dirt cheap computers and plastic stuff.

Umm, no, you need cheap breakable crap from China. There's plenty of other 3rd world countries that want a seat at the table with the USA, and access to it's vast consumer market. They could try to sell to China just the same, as their consumer market is also huge, but good luck profiting off peasantry working for 3,000 USD a year.

Nice of you to root for the commies by the way, while laughing at the struggles facing the US worker. I'm sure you think it's funny when farmers (the people who feed you) kill themselves as well. Why is it that all these people who want to laugh at America and root against her, choose to live here?

I'm just supporting Mitch McConnel and family. If the most powerful Man in the USA does billions with China and sits in the halls of power and the bank boards (state owned), who am I to not buy their stuff?

I am very happy for the Chinese brought out of poverty. In both my dealings with them and my social meetings I find them, on the whole, to be more honorable and civil than many Americans.

I think it has to do with the lack of Fundamentalist religion and the Taoist philosophy....more realistic, IMHO.

They are peasants. Of course they are docile and polite. In their culture, the nail that sticks out gets knocked down. The alternative to toeing the line in their society is to be isolated and even punished, especially with the new "social credit" rating system. Their way of life is totally different from ours, and they put up with controls and oppression that most Americans would never tolerate. Although we know the left desires strong social controls, elimination of free speech, etc.

And American capitalism brought them out of poverty. They were all riding around on bikes before the Americans showed up with cash in hand, and helped them industrialize. They tried doing it on their own, and millions upon millions of people starved. Of course, this gave the state an opportunity to starve their opponents, and anyone who might even think of criticizing the state. Totally different way of life over there, and not something anyone should want for this country.

The truth is, the Chinese who know how we live in America can see, we are happier and better off with our capitalist system and greater abundance of freedom, especially our freedom of speech... Something so many Americans are taking for granted today, because they don't understand the level of oppression experienced by people in other nations. How many times now have we seen leftists assembling to shut down free speech whenever a conservative is scheduled to speak at a university? Many of these fools are actually trying to eliminate free speech, so we can inch closer to living like peasants in China. Why don't they just go move there and leave Americans alone?
