What’s embarrassing is that some posters appear to be unable to differentiate between “c’mon man, everyone knows” and “here is the evidence, some of which is circumstantial - use your common sense to determine what happened and what Trump’s motive was.”

That is not only typical of a juror, but is a directive expressly set forth in the Pattern Jury Instructions that a judge reads to a jury prior to deliberation, which states in relevant part that a jury may draw inferences “that flow naturally, reasonably and logically” from the facts presented, including “circumstantial evidence” and directs the jury to “look at and consider all the facts in the light of reason, common sense, and experience.”

“The impeachment inquiry has found that President Trump, personally and acting through agents within and outside of the U.S. government, solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, to benefit his reelection," said Chairman Adam Schiff in the report's preface.

In doing so, "the President placed his own personal and political interests above the national interests of the United States, sought to undermine the integrity of the U.S. presidential election process, and endangered U.S. national security,” the report said.

Exactly.
300 pages of "still trying" to undo the 2016 election.

Do you say the same about the Constitution?

As for the 300 page report, it's being used to draft the articles of impeachment.

How does this sound?

Using the powers of the office of President of the United States, Donald Trump, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in disregard of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has repeatedly engaged in conduct violating the constitutional rights of citizens, impairing the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, or contravening the laws governing agencies of the executive branch and the purposes of these agencies.

Or this?

Donald Trump, using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan designed to delay, impede, and obstruct the investigation of such illegal activity; to cover up, conceal and protect those responsible; and to conceal the existence and scope of other unlawful covert activities.

Trump does love certain types of people because of their ability to understand. Or rather inability.

Time to take a step back and realize that the Schiff/Dem/Lib Clown Show is what it is. All about NOTHING.

More about the dem/libs long time creepy Quid Pro Quo and how they don't want to be outed.

Trump is your POTUS and you are just going to have to deal with it for the next 5 years.

Sorry. I forgot about Pence. He's in it up to his armpits as well.

My post was about the claims of hearsay evidence, if you read it before you replied. The question remaining was why Trump refuses to allow any of the people with first-hand knowledge to testify and clear his name.

We have only heard the prelude at this point, and a small part of the counterpoint. We need to hear the melody, in five-part harmony.

If Trump is removed from office, he can only run again if the Senate allows it.

Trump had no legal authority to withhold funding. Even his defenders who claim that his reasons were not personal, have not provided any justifications that it was legal to do so.

From that piece:

"There are two relevant budgetary statutes that are implicated by Trump withholding military aid for Ukraine: apportionment authority and the Impoundment Control Act (ICA). Both laws are intended to restrict the executive branch from undermining Congress’s “power of the purse” under the Constitution."

It's worth noting (as does that piece) that the Impoundment Control Act (ICA) was passed in the wake of another POTUS who was using the powers of the office, in violation of his oath, to impair & obstruct the due & proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiry.

The POTUS is not a Monarch.

Equal, yes, and the House has oversight on the Executive branch. This is the basis of Checks and Balances, so one branch doesn't try to take over as a dictatorial entity. Trump is following the time honored tradition of stonewalling the House, to keep them from finding out the truth about what transpired. It didn't work for Nixon or Clinton, and it won't work for Trump.

The complaint from the republicans is that Trump has been denied due process (which he is entitled to during his trial - not during the investigation). Nadler opened the floor to Trump, or his attorneys if he preferred, to come and clear the air and state his position, and question witnesses if he so desired. He turned the offer down flat. This indicates that the complaint was all crocodile tears, and that he is probably terrified of appearing in person or by proxy, because the questions could be quite pointed and revealing.

"Declining the invitation" is a nice way of saying he was too cowardly to show his face.

Sad that so many Trump supporters cannot read and understand the English language.

It can't be easy to live this way.
