They were used to Obama's style of diplomacy, which he was all about style over substance. He's a cool guy, likable, easy going, charming, but gives the country away.
Trump is not easily manipulated like Obama, and he stands up to them, pushes back and calls them out.
Trump is substance over style, results-oriented.
Bottom line is these countries all desperately need the United States, and Trump is no wimp, and they hate that he makes them pay up, own up, and calls them out for any sh*t. It is actually refreshing to see.
