There is a large spectrum of policial belief - from the extreme right to the extreme left. Most people fall somewhere close to the center. But nowdays everyone is lumped in togeter. All leftists are Antifa members, and all right wingers are KKK members. This is disingenuous and needs to stop. No wonder no one can have a discussion. I rarely repont to any posts that starts out "why do all leftists????" because I know without even looking that it's going to be something some extremists has done and that the poster is lumping them together with moderates life myself. I'm sure people on the right feel the same way.
So, you have to type a few more word - but be clear.
Don't say "leftists want communism" - say "some extreme leftists want communism". Be precise and accurate. Isn't that what you are all saying the media should be? But the thread titles here are wose than anythign the MSM could get away with. Take your own advice.

"authoritarian" is about the mechanism to get something done, not the what you believe in in and of itself. So actually yes, you can be the polar opposite of someone and both be authoritarian.

Yes, but both Democrats and Republicans are right authoritarian. Democrats just slightly less so.

Which leaves us moderates out in the cold. Truly, I am so disgusted with the partisianism that spends more time calling each other names like kids on a playground than actually dealing with issues that might impact my life, that I've just pretty much dropped out of all but local/state polictics on issues that really do affect me.
