Humanity just lucked out that the producers of HFCs didn't have the political clout that the fossil fuel industry does. Signs are we aren't going to have that sort of happy outcome this time.

But hey, decades' worth of stockholder value isn't something to sneeze at, now is it?
so you're saying the fossil fuel industry is holding a gun to China, India, and the developing world...
...and forcing them to increase their coal consumption and build more coal plants

Mainland China has about 45 nuclear power reactors in operation, about 15 under construction, and more about to start construction.

so? mainland China is ground zero for solar panel and windmill manf....yet they choose to increase their CO2 emissions by increasing coal consumption and imports...and building more coal plants

coal dominates China energy.....nuclear is so small you can barely see it > https://gailtheactuary.files.wordpre...to-2018-bp.png

Why yes, we can. Open up another plant building air conditioners. Boom-done.

Yes, the political efforts worked in that case. However, CFCs only remain in the atmosphere for up to a century, so that is a problem we could solve by reducing the emission of CFCs. Plus there are no feedback loops in the cycle.

That's not true of carbon dioxide -- once it's extracted from underground, it stays in the natural cycle for a long time. Plus the thermal increase creates forcing mechanisms that can accelerate the change. We won't solve the greenhouse gas problem quite as easily -- about all we can do is minimize the consequences by reducing emissions. Even if the political will is found, we'll still have to adapt to the changing environment.

The fundamental difference between ozone depletion and anthropogenic climate change is this: there was a relatively simple solution to ozone depletion, but we have no solution to global warming (unless we’re willing to run absolutely everything on nuclear power).

CO2 is not a pollutant. It occurs naturally, and nature has released huge amounts into the atmosphere throughout history. We have seen large changes in climate well before man's industrialization. The sad fact is the people pushing climate change know they can't change it, and don't want to. That is not their goal. Their goal is economic, and more and bigger government and economic control.

There is not a world wide agreement on the cause ... evolution or man?

Deniers are on stage, to keep a tax from being implemented, because of evolution. (imo)

But if you are a private company wanting to spend your money on the manufacturing of solar panels, wind turbans and other renewable energies, knock yourself out... government should not subsidize your business though ... evolution will happen regardless.

And the science is all over the map, but to look out around the world and not see a change in atmospheric disturbances
I forgot this tidbit of news:
The US is relocating an entire town because of climate change. And this is just the beginning

How to Save a Town From Rising Waters

It is a global situation which has increased the numbers of migrants due to the fact they have lost their homes, due to the rise in the oceans ...
