Walk into a bank with a mask and a gun and drop the gun when the security guard levels his gun at you. At your trial, use the defense that there's no crime because the bank was never robbed. Let us know how that works out for you.
The action of walking into a bank with a mask and gun is illegal in and of itself, so it's not a valid analogy.
According to all evidence available, there is nothing that Trump has done that is inherently illegal. Democrats allege that his intent was corrupt in order to suggest wrongdoing, but that has not been proven with any evidence thus far.
In this country, you are presumed to be innocent until PROVEN guilty. If there's no proof you acted illegally, there's nothing to defend against....the initial presumption is that you are innocent.
You are correct if this were a case against you or I in a criminal court. But since we are talking impeachment, you are comparing apples to oranges.
in a show trial you can’t have a show if the accused doesn’t show up. In a real trial no prosecutor with a real case ever whines about a defendant letting a case go to jury without challenging the prosecution.

Well, there hasn't been a trial yet for starters. That happens in the Senate. The House is like a grand jury, so your understanding of the impeachment process is a little off.

LOL so you believe with impeachment the president should be considered guilty until proven innocent?
I guess we should just send him to the gulag simply because there were partisan allegations.....
That kind of thinking is always what we get when the left gains power and it's the reason it's a REALLY good thing the constitution is super difficult to change. It's the only protection against those types.

Your understanding of the impeachment process needs some work. Officials who are impeached and removed from office go home. They don't go to prison or "to the gulags." What I consider about whether the president is considered guilty does not matter. It matters that Mitch McConnel has already said they will not vote to remove from office, so he has already made uo his mind. He's in the Senate. I'm just some guy with a computer.
You mention the Constitution which is good since that is where the House gets the power to impeach.
