"However, Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe wrote on Twitter that he disagreed with Feldman's analysis, saying that "under Art. I, Sec. 2, Clause 5, he was impeached on Dec 18, 2019. He will forever remain impeached. Period." That portion of the Constitution says that the House of Representatives "shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.""

Consensus among the legal community is that The President is impeached. Feldman's opinion has been dismissed. The Constitution does not require anything to be delivered to the Senate for the purposes of impeachment. The trial that follows impeachment, however, yes.
Where does the Constitution require something to be delivered to the Senate for a trial?

If the consensus is the impeachment is valid, they can just pull the charges from the House public record and take a vote or have a trial if they want to.

The Senate requires it, not the Constitution. So we have impeachment in place now. The Senate has decided that they will not hold trial until impeachment papers are delivered.

Simple. It's a two step process requiring it to pass both chambers of congress.
* The House initiates the proceedings, votes on impeachment.
* The Senate holds a trial and decides guilt or innocence.

Until it gets to the Senate for their say in the matter, it's as if nothing has happened.
A big fat zero.

The Senate can change their rules if they want to.

Mitch said he didn't care if she ever sent the articles. Then he said he plans to hold a trial using the same rules as were used for Clinton.

I think its early to say exactly what the Senate will do if Pelosi continues with obstructing the Senate in their role.

One things for sure...…..you want be having it both ways.

Yes, but just like an opinion piece on FOX, WSJ, or NYT, it's not the opinion or a publication from the medium. It's independent.

Whatever...…...the more interesting question is why the Dem's used someone you say doesn't know what he's talking about as their star witness on impeachment process.

Why do you think that was?

The only thing Pelosi is doing is holding onto the articles of impeachment. There's no obstruction as the Senate has not begun to act yet.

I certainly never said anything of having it both ways. You're simply making stuff up to align with your agenda. I'm just stating the facts. President Trump has been impeached. A trial in the Senate will determine whether he is removed from office.

Starting to get the feeling all the Dem expert impeachment witnesses are running one big con game out of Harvard?
