The proper thing to do would be to simply dismiss the whole thing outright and end the partisan sham.... but until the impeachment actually happens, there's nothing to talk about.

Because the House was not conducting a trial, they were writing articles of impeachment. The two chambers have different responsibilities and the Senate's role is to conduct a trial in which all the evidence is presented. That was not the role of the House. The two are different, as per the Constitution.

What ever is needed to see the truth - bring it forth! Many bad people go free because not all get introduced at court. Crazy - but true. I think it manipulates the system.

You are wasting your breath, Trump voters just do not want to see it that way.

And the ruling party gets to make the rules in either case. If they wanted a fair process in the senate, they should have had one in the house. Elections have consequences.

DJTs entire strategy in both investigations has been to eliminate all possible sources of information. Witnesses and documents will only hurt him, potentially badly, so he's opposed. McConnell wants the conservative court nominations to continue, so he'll fully support DJT. The net result are two prime examples of how a President can perform a successful cover-up of his misdeeds.

How was it not fair? The Trump administration was invited to participate and testify and they declined. That's on Trump.

So if the President wants witnesses to exonerate him of any wrongdoing, then why is McConnell making the unilateral decision to block them from testifying as well as introducing any documents that might exonerate Trump? I just don't get it.
Trump was complaining about the Schiff hearings. Schiff took total control and disallowed repub witnesses, prevented witnesses form answering questions asked by repubs and leaked tid bits favorable to democrats to the media.

Now the call for witnesses?????????????? the ship has sailed, the horse is out of the barn.

Trump's call for witnesses had a time limit and was intended to make the Schiff hearing somewhat resemble equal justice.

Situation has changed, dems stumbled, no need for witnesses now.

We're not removing a President from office for these silly shenanigans. Ridiculous.

But then, this is who you're dealing with.
