That would have been a good idea. There certainly would be more of a reason to consult the Russians before attacking one of their allies than there would be to consult congress who has already authorized that kind of action.

The American left is far, far more upset about the deaths of terrorist leaders that have killed hundreds of Americans, than they ever were about the death of an American ambassador.
