LS - he's not saying people are thrilled with Trump - just with his latest action. I was thrilled to hear that Bin Laden was dead. I didn't like Obama but was happy BL was no longer a threat as every other American in this country should be about the guy Trump took out.
We have no idea what hasn't been realized to the public - this guy has been on everyone's radar for a long time and planning something. So they had the chance to take him out and did so. Kudos to them.

The US though assisted Saddam in targeting the Kurds, then tried to blame Iran for the attack.

We stand with them on issue after issue? What issue? We have totally opposite philosophies and sets of beliefs. How so? If you accused me of being a terrorist sympathiser and have not done your research....you owe an apologize. That simply is a very indecent thing to do. And to question the litalty of such a huge chunk of their countrymen and women is, in my view, undemocratic and unAmerican, and frightening. In a democracy you are supposed to be able to debate and exchange viewpoints without having your loyalty to the country questioned just because someone who doesn't even seem to understand your viewpoints disagrees with you. Just because somebody disagrees with you does not mean they are disloyal or a fifth columnists. Some people seem to really struggle with grasping that. I thought we all learned that as a consequence of McCarthyism.
As a devout liberal what beliefs do I have in common with the terrorists? Support for gay marriage? Religious freedom for ALL religions?
And accusing millions of fellow Americans of being terrorist sympathisers? It is YOUR reputation on the line! Look at what happened to Joseph McCarthy's reputation in the end, and it was richly deserved! To bad that so many careers and reputations were ruined or sullied before he and his ilk were put in their place.
To me just calling others a terrorist sympathiser, etc is just an attempt to shout down and use emotional appeals against the opposition and destroy them and their reputation rather than engage in an honest respectful and well thought out debate.

If our immigration policy is intended to promote the entry if terrorists into the country so they can carry out attacks then why have there been no such attacks? The 9/11 hijackers entered legally. And there has not been a major Islamic terrorist attack in the US in almost twenty years. Which disproves the argument that we liberals are such ardent haters of America and supporters of terrorists.?Since we make up a huge percentage of Americans if there was a smidgen of truth to that there would have been at least one devastating attack on US soil in almost two decades that you could point to...there is not. Every large group of people has its whackadoodles, but those who argue that Democrats and liberals are anti-American or pro terrorist are charging at windmills.
