No one said all gun owners are alt-right. I am a gun owner, and not alt-right. However, the alt-right is present at this rally, which is why there is a concern that it could turn violent. Seeing pictures of guys wearing military gear like helmets, carrying AR-15s with 10 extra magazines tends to say they are not regular gun owners.
Minus a helmet that pretty much covers modern deer hunters so it's a lot more "normal" than most think.
You need 10 extra magazines (300 rounds) to kill a deer?
You should consider taking shooting classes.
Also, why do you need a mask to hunt deer?
I carry a spare because of the chance of wild hogs and we can only carry 10 rounders. Where I hunt it's cold so I do wear a full face mask. Especially on a quad.
We also hunt right on the border so a very real chance of running into drug runners. Last year I found a stash of drug running stuff I turned over to BP.
I'll put my shooting skills up against yours. I've shot 14 deer in 13 years straight. You don't sound like a hunter.
Open carry, which is LEGAL in VA outside the Capital Square, is the smartest/best form of protest. I see many 2A advocates have realized that and are acting on it.

How come only these guys at the rally need a mask, and noone else does.

Heck, I was hunting Cape Buffalo and other African big game in my teens, and before that, I practiced with an air rifle as a little boy. One night when I was 16 I defended my kill in the dark of the night with hyenas circling me (the rest of the crew went to camp to pick up the trailer). I do not hunt in the US though. Targets only. I prefer fishing, which is pretty good here in South Florida. Giant hog hunting with spears crossed my mind, but didn't do it. Needing 300 rounds to hunt deer sounds ridiculous, but whatever gets you through the night.
All you "pro-gunners" should be pleased that the Governor banned guns at that rally! What the Neo-Nazis had planned there would not have helped your cause!
