The real audience is the voters. The Dems knew before the trial that Trump was going to be acquitted. Independents matter. Some republicans don't want it dismissed yet. Let the voters hear and see the facts.

And yes, he is a threat right now, imho.
The point is that all you liberals screaming that Trump is a threat wanted Hillary as president, knowing that she cared so much more about being president than protecting national security that she put out all sorts of classified emails on an unauthorized, unsecured server. Experts testified that it is almost a certainty that secret government information fell into the hands of enemies. But somehow, that's acceptable to you.

I suspect once both sides present their cases, they'll vote to allow one witness, Hunter Biden, and then close it down for the the dismissal vote.

I suspect Hunter Biden won't testify because he has nothing to do with Trump's corruption and lies. As long as voters hear the evidence against Trump, they are the only audience Democrats and the public need to care about at this point. The GOP is enabling a cover-up.

Did I say this was acceptable?
No it is not however she is not president, imho.
This is the impeachment trial of Donald John Trump not Hillary Rodham Clinton.
She has been investigated more than anyone and was just cleared yet again by the Trump department of Justice.

Let’s focus on the person at hand now.

The unfortunate choices were Trump or Hillary. She was not my preference, but Trump has predictably been a disaster. No reasonable person in a hiring role would ever give him a job based on merit, temperament, or ability to do the task at hand. Fortunately for him, as George Carlin once said, think of a person of average intelligence and then realize that 50% of people by default have less intelligence than the average person. And then realize those (actually less than 50%) were given the responsibility of hiring him.

Had the Republicans stepped up to the plate and nominated someone reasonable like Kasich, he would've flipped a lot more states Red than Trump did. So now Trump is the president and uses an unsecured cell phone as president.

How will this work?
He knows nothing about the situation at hands.

Yup. The Dems would vote to dismiss rather than have Biden expose how corrupt he and his father are. It would be a disaster - Joe Biden would have lost any hope of clinching the nomination, and the Dems would be left with a choice between an old socialist and a lying socialist.

So....this would be the vote: Do you vote to continue the trial and hear from Hunter Biden?
