This is no slippery slope, only the recognition that not everyone is the same - and when only consenting adults are involved, there are no real problems, only make believe ones.
Conservatives want so bad to tie pedophilia in some way to acceptance of homosexuality. After all, Jerry Falwell said that acceptance of homosexuality would lead to acceptance of pedophilia. It hasn't happened, but conservatives have to act like it is. They aren't against pedophilia. If they were, they'd go after the Catholic Church. They are against gay people.
Let me get this clear..... your position is that conservatives aren't against paedophilia and your "evidence" of this is that they don't "go after" paedophile priests?
The main difference between homosexual and interracial relationships is that they are (usually) between consenting adults.
Children do not consent to be preyed upon. They are not legally able to consent if they are underage.
Acceptance of homosexual & interracial relationships has evolved over the years, but pedophilia should never be acknowledged as anything but sick and perverted behavior.
They're working on that also. I belive some states still have age of consent for sex law at 16 and now dems want people to vote at 16 but no be considered adults for murder or other crimes. Once they have conviced people that 16 year olds should vote they'll being trying to lower the age of consent for sex and raise the age of responsibility for anything else. These are demented people we are dealing with.

If you have never read about how public opinion on these two groups was changed over time...its very interesting, when you read it, you can see some of the same things going on today, in regards to Pedophilia/Hebephilia.
I hope there will be enough parents to push back. Are we getting more perverted? Yes but that does not make it acceptable. Do we protect the children? H no! We go after border fence jumpers with fierce anger, but let child predators off with slap on the wrist and a class. The religious condemn the gays and abortions and little of anything is ever mentioned about child abuse. In 50 yrs of memory in churches - I never ever heard one sermon against it. You now hear about sex trafficking but child abuse ? What politician gets on his/her soap box against it?

I sort of think this may be the reason why we hear so many teachers and other adults being caught in sexual relationships with students/ minors in the news media today...its desensitization and it working too.
Can you honestly say you are 'shocked' when you hear these news stories? (Im not anymore, Ive grown accustom to them)...that is the goal of desensitization...given enough time, it becomes tolerated...and finally accepted.
Another aspect is 'hard core porn'...look back 20 yrs ago to what was considered 'hard core' and compare to todays version, its a night and day difference! Can you imagine what will be 'hard core' in another 20 yrs? I sure cannot!!! The people that like hard core porn constantly need to up the extreme, to get the same effect, desensitization works on them in the same way, they become accustom to very extreme forms of porn and over time it becomes boring to them, what is hard core today, would have been criminal 20 or so years ago.
