National debt increased by $3 trillion during donald trump's three years as president.

Not too worry. I am quite sure Bernie's 97 Trillion in new spending will nip it in the bud.

No problem. Just eliminate Medicare and social security for Trump voters. That’ll save a bundle.

Yeah, but Obama had the benefit (or should I say, "benefit") of coming into office during a deep recession. Budget deficits always go up during recessions. Trump is adding about the same (absolute) amount of debt while the economy is supposedly booming.

So overall I'd say they're still about the same.

Hate to say it, but this run-up on the national debt is likely the PRIMARY reason why the economy is doing well and how we are still able to maintain our living standards

Otherwise, we would already look like your average Latin American country...

The King of Debt is working it. Soon the entire Nation will be like him - able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Never has anyone done so little...with so much....as Trump, who should have parlayed his dad's 100's of millions into 50+ billion, but instead went broke multiple times.

That's right, neither.

Too bad you don't know how the government works.

If you did, you'd know how the DNC house was involved.

Here, I'll educate you. The POTUS can't unilaterally make and pass a budget.

No one indicated otherwise, but they can sure set the tone as was the case for Regan and Clinton in a good way and GW Bush in a not so good way. The budget never gets prepared in a vacuum by the house, what's the point. Its done in coordination with the 2 branches and the president or do you think the house passes the budget on their own.

Republicans had control of all three for 2 years and the best they could come up with is a spending increase and the 2017 Tax Cut.

Blaming the deficit only on Trump is either ignorance or stupidity.

The king of debt claimed it was OK.

Bankruptcy one of the few things he has done well, 4, 5 6, times.
