I agree if you try to compare 2009/2010 to 2017/2018. But by 2015/2016 the country was out of the recession and the UE rate had already come way down. Job creation has slowed since the final years of the Obama administration. The LFPR rate has been in the same range since near the end of 2013. Which is a good sign given the increasing number of people who are retiring. Wage increases are actual disappointing given the UE rate.

Funny, I don't see you crediting Obama when in 2014 3 million jobs were created under him, far more than under any year for Trump.

ADP and BLS almost always differ, as the metrics and measurable used differ. Both were very positive for this period and point in an economic cycle.

Try differentiating between part time or lower paying jobs and full time higher paying jobs. How many jobs created during Obama’s years were filled by part time workers just to put some food on the table. Jobs that have better pay and longer hours do a lot more to improve the economy, which has happened a lot faster and higher the last three years.

I pointed to the BLS site where you can pull up historical data. If you compare the trend lines for job creation for the period immediately prior to the Trump administration and since Trump assumed office you will see that job creation has slowed.

Looking at individual months won't show you the trend line and can vary quite a bit. But the trend lines will show the direction. Job creation is slowing.

Why would anybody expect people who hate working to be excited about job creation?

Yep. Every time I ask Trumpies how Trump created jobs they just deflect. That's because he hasn't created jobs; he's actually lost us jobs with his trade wars.

Here is the year of year change in people working part time for economic reasons (ie they what a full time job) since 2014. Part time jobs were declining during the Obama administration at a pretty good clip.

Numbers in thousands.

2014 -857 2015 -502 2016 -863 2017 -180 2018 -752 2019 166 2020 -908

The days of Obama's McJobs era is over, today we have real jobs for real people.
