Police, in my view, tend to know what teens or other high-crime age groups are carrying around books, which ones carrying knives or guns. Current Mayor DeBlasio has stopped this policy, out of "sensitivity." It's at least good that DeBlasio can manage a speech condemning the "senseless" murder. Out of a desire to be sensitive to the hurt and anguish of certain political activists, and 18 year old Barnard student lies dead.

Progressives, I'm sure you feel virtuous. The 13 year old perpetrator, after all, was not stopped and harassed by police.

Shame on you for trying to politicize a young woman's death.

There is no evidence that stop and frisk laws are effective in stemming violent crime. The decrease in the quantity of stop and frisks have not resulted in any increased crimes. Even conservatives have admitted that they were wrong about stop and frisk - see the link from the National Review:

I wonder where she grew up, life before nyc and family life. She was a self described feminist and sjw. Sad that these things happen. Did anyone watch evening news? was it aired? Imagine the perps are black. Imagine reverse would be national outrage and viral since it is so rare.

She didn't just die, she was murdered. You don't think violent crime, and how society deals with it, is a legitimate political topic?

There is absolutely no rational for implying let alone stating, that stop and frisk would have done anything to stop this murder.

Aye, idk.

This case is unbelievably tragic, but stop and frisk is hands down ridiculously unconstitutional.

The double standards in how the media treat this will be infuriating and I support our police, but under no circumstances do we need to be giving them more power, especially concerning the right to stop and search citizens without cause.

The perps are middle school kids. Stop and Frisk wouldn't have stopped this.

Why would you stop at politicizing a young woman's death, the Demonicrats have polticized everything. Stop and frisk has greatly reduced crime which is why Dems hate it.

There is cause of reasonable suspicion. The location, the behavior, fitting the profile, the individuals a cop would tend to stop and search are suspicious as all get out.

Liberals want to take guns from law abiding people, but don't want shady and suspicious people roaming the public streets to be checked out.
