He advocates social democratic, FDR-style policies like stronger labor unions, a national health care system and higher SS benefits. The vast majority of conservative parties in the rest of the developed world support Sanders' policies. He calls it democratic socialism. Its a very far cry from actual socialism where workers own the means of production.
Does Sanders advocate all private property to be confiscated? No. Only the silly people are actually afraid of Sanders' "dangerous socialism" and believe starvation is next. Its totally nuts.
This is completely right. Trumpers like to try to scare people by claiming that Sander's Democratic Socialism is the same as text book socialism. They also like to use the tactic of calling it Venezuelan Socialism. Neither is accurate or true, or even leaning toward truth. Both are purposefully inflammatory and disingenuous.
Sander's Democratic Socialism does not eliminate capitalism. It put controls on it so that the actual people in a society are supported and served, not just the corporations and oligarchs. This scare tactic comes across as name calling and fear mongering, not as intelligent discussion. But that is trumpism. I guess we will see how that works.
The liberal fanatics's most common reply to this is "But... but... but... that's not REALLY socialism!!!"
They seem to spew it any time ANYONE says they are socialist, or that they support socialism, or someone else is socialist etc.
Seems to be an automatic response any time socialism results in poverty, or huge governments, or even destruction of an entire country that tried it.
Since that's what socialism usually does, they're saying it a lot nowadays.
Public schools = not really socialism
Public colleges = not really socialism
Medicare = not really socialism
Medicaid = not really socialism
Social Security = not really socialism
Strange how the GOP still tries to scare by tagging "communist" and "socialist"
Typical disingenuous whine from yet another naive fanatic who thinks "communist" and "socialist" AREN'T bad things that had spread misery and poverty (and even destroyed nations) nearly everywhere they've been tried.
They're not "tags". They are accurate descriptions of the main points usually produced by those two political agendas.
Humorous how the whiner claims the GOP "tries to scare" people by pointing this out. That's like "trying to scare" people in Wuhan, China by pointing out that coronavirus is spreading like wildfire there and that thousands have already died from it.
Of course not, you talk to people from these countries and they feel sorry for Americans, especially our huge population of working poor. I should know, I’m Canadian so we are fully aware of what’s going on the U.S and were scratching our heads half the time when we watched the news from there. Like WTF type moments.
In Oklahoma, poor people once every year have to wait for the Mission of Mercy and its hundreds of volunteers to set up a mass free dental clinic that lasts two days somewhere in the the state. Maybe that is a WTF type moment. https://www.stwnewspress.com/news/ok...03590b200.html
Pay for your own healthcare. Don’t rely on others. Unions are going the way of dinosaurs and they are the big money in politics you claim he is against. That makes him a hypocrite. And we don’t need more intoxicants legalized.
Well, if we reverse course and resume putting people in prison over pot, I bet we can't depend on you to donate money or want higher taxes to build more prisons for them.
Get in line if you don't mind the government taking more money out of your paycheck, via taxation.
