Most people don't understand money.

There are a couple of terms that came into being because a subset of people fell into the category, but they are deemed racist now, because blacks overwhelmingly fit the profile...at least in the past. So now they've stuck and imply black when initially it just meant people of low industry.

The terms are:

1. N***** rich- meaning when someone suddenly got a windfall of money they blew it on showy swag and not stuff that would save, secure or even grow their wealth.

Most people are guilty of this to some degree, they want instant gratification. Blacks have made it a huge part of their visible culture...RAP music has taken this to a whole new and dangerous level. Look at how the Rappers flaunt worthless swag! They are hurting the future generation by teaching them to do the wrong thing.

2. There goes the neighborhood- it originally referred to poor, slovenly people moving into a nice area and messing it up, then as the place becomes blighted the responsible people move out which allows more undesirables move in, taking the place over.
Every ghetto was once a nice middle class neighborhood. When the neighborhood goes, it's because people start moving in that litter, don't take care of their property, play loud music, hang out in groups making residents feel unsafe because they harass decent people, graffiti starts appearing, crime goes up and values go down. Again, this is true of low grade people of all races but blacks have taken in to a new lever and MADE it part of their culture.

Blacks, as a culture CELEBRATE this stuff. They PROMOTE it!

Worst of all, they disenfranchise any black that tries to overcome it. They call them sellouts and Toms and worse for trying to be successful.

Other races try to keep their own down too, it's just not as prevalent.

...and now, I'll await all the comments about how I'm such a racist for speaking the truth...instead of people actually reading what I wrote, they will attack based on their rewording and not comprehending what I said.

Any candidates talking about this? Blacks unemployment may be near record lows......but blacks don't seem to have much wealth....not surprising given how important home value is to ones wealth.
What do you want to talk about?

The fact that Blacks don't know how to invest or don't want to invest or that Blacks don't know how to start successful businesses?

And that's White people's fault?

How?

Anyway, those are paper billionaires, not real billionaires.

Do you understand the difference between a paper millionaire and a real millionaire?

A paper millionaire doesn't actually have $1 Million in cash. What they have is $1 Million in property/real estate, stocks, bonds, annuities, business valuations, cars, boats, antiques, valuable art and such.

There are real millionaires who do actually have $1+ Million in cold hard cash, but the paper millionaires do not.

Bill Gates' net worth is $110 Billion, but he does not have $1 Billion in cash.

His net worth is based almost entirely on Microsux stocks, and then all the other assets he owns.

He only has a few $Million in actual cash.

Soros is a billionaire, too, but he has far more cash than Gates. Soros probably has a few $100s Million in cash.

Most of your billionaires were either entrepreneurs like Gates, or savvy investors like Soros, Buffet and the Koch brothers (although they were entrepreneurs and investors).

If you want to be a billionaire, then learn how to invest or start a hugely successful business.

Because you are presenting this data as a problem that needs to be ameliorated. I seem to detect a reparations ploy.

Boxus replied:

"I am confused about Bloomberg, am I suppose to hate him or not? lol"

To my comment:

answer: if you are Blue, you hate Red Billionaires (Kochs), if you are Red, you hate Blue Billionaires (Soros).

Boxus,

I don't have the answer to that one. Bloomberg seems to be 1/2 'Pub.

Right now, he's my 2nd choice, so I guess I neither like him, nor hate him.

I like him for using his own cash to fund his campaign, but the Big Gulp & straws stuff...not so much.

Buying a 3rd term as NY Mayor is also a huge turn off. He's 2nd least worst nonetheless imho.

He's not admitting to being overtly socialist, so I'm trying to keep an open mind on him.

As a business owner myself, & a person who hates lifelong politicians, I laughed out loud at his debate video spoof of when he asked the others:

"I'm the only person on the stage who has actually started a business, right?" Touche!

Even better seeing CNN do this over it...

On this, I personally don't feel that it is anything that is surprising considering how recent intense oppressive systematic racism ended.

As an African American, I do feel that we black Americans need to focus on wealth building. I also do feel that too many of us focus more on social justice issues today and the younger amongst us (and many older ones) have an inferior view of ourselves when it comes to building wealth. IMO that is the main reason why we don't have it. We invest in the idea that we cannot do anything by ourselves to acquire wealth in this country today even though we don't have anyone coming to lynch us for acquiring assets.

Too many of us IMO don't want to have a real conversation on this. I don't want to or like to compare ourselves to white people as white people IMO we should not even be focused on. We need to focus on ourselves and building ourselves up from where we are with concrete goals and help each other with said goals. Some of those goals should/could involve political policies/initiatives and candidates. But I feel that continuing to point out and say "look at how much wealth whites have versus black people" is silly and doesn't accomplish anything.

No.

Nobody is stopping black people from making money or creating wealth.

Not everything that you perceive as an injustice requires the force of government to rectify.

Sometimes.......it is what it is.

Here is my thing. Every human is programmed to survive. Every act that a human commits is deemed to be in their best interest. A person will always make the choice that is construed as the best choice for them to make. In other words, people are not programmed to self destruct. If people become self destructive.....its because they are not happy with their lives. There is severe depression or mental illness to the point that people are not really caring about their lives anymore. Its like being just shy of suicidal. keep in mind that suicide is seen as the BEST option for people having mental difficulty or health difficulty.

People like to point the finger at "black culture". To me, there is not such thing as black culture, because it was learned from or in reaction to whites culture towards blacks. If people are looking at the black culture as being self destructive......what forces shaped that in America? Is it plausible to suggest that racial oppression impacted the mental health of black people?

If you watch rap videos......if you watch deeply......you see a genre of people who desperately want to feel like they are somebody......meaning that they feel like they are nobody....and thus flashing cash, cars and jewelry makes them.....finally.....somebody. Well, if you really feel and are confident that you are somebody.....you don't need to try to prove it. Black people waste a lot of money....TRYING TO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE SOMEBODY. We would not have to try to feel like somebody if not for spending 3 centuries in a land where we were told we were NOBODY.

Many white people do not want to come to grips with how bad 3 centuries of racial oppression really has impacted black people. You don't. You can't live with that reality and the moral injury it might cause you or the epiphany that blacks are not behaving this way because its their nature.
