I am hugely pro-LGBT rights, and say that she is spot on. This cancel and attack everything that isn't like you culture is shameful and has no place in our society.

The irony of that "attack everything that isn't like you" culture is that it is coming from the progressives, who sanctimoniously praise themselves for their tolerance and "acceptance" of the other. The fact is that they have decided precisely which "other" they will tolerate, and everyone else is subjected to non-stop attacks and bullying.
Im friends with a married couple of gay dudes. Republican gay dudes. Go figure. Mostly they just want to be left alone to live their lives with their "fur baby".

Agreed, 100%
I've said this about other issues, too. For instance, conservative states like Alaska have voted to raise the minimum wage and legalize marijuana via citizen referendum. Generally speaking, people don't have an issue with many traditionally leftist positions. Its just that they don't want the kind of politician that usually comes along with those positions.

Me too! I became friendly with the gay guy in the next office, and eventually his partner. Two of the nicest, smartest people you'd ever want to meet. And they too were both Republicans - and they shared with me how much their gay friends attacked them for voting Republican, even losing some friends who refused to be pals with anyone who didn't vote for Hillary.
