Trump operates from day to day without a long- or even medium-term plan. Tax cuts today to boost an economy affected by a potential pandemic in a re-election year with absolutely no forethought to the future. None.

What's next warning women that those who don't use birth control or more at risk of getting pregnant?
What does this have to do with blocking the CDC report? The White House isn’t being criticized for failure to warn the elderly (a situation in which your point would apply) but going out of its way to block another group from issuing such a warning.

Why would you advocate using the power of government to further terrorize that segment of our population even further. They already know their particular risks. You act like the elderly are stupid.

Why????

Actually, no, many of them don't know their particular risks and shame on them, but it is what it is and they are what they are. Many elderly people have taken on a child-like role when it comes to their health. They believe doctors are gods and, generally, a doctor will have a very paternalistic role when it comes to elderly patients. They are low-information, don't want details, just for someone to tell they that "it's okay" or your test was "normal." And so on.

My best friend's mother is around 77 y/o, COPD and other issues. She was supposed to go on a cruise and they basically had to get her neighbors and a few other relatives to beat her over the head about not going and she finally relented yesterday. She really doesn't think much is going on with this and she is the exact person that should be the poster model for the most at-risk for COVID-19. Yes, she needs the CDC and her leadership to tell her not to fly.

Now, I don't want to insult other elderly folks. My own mother is 76 and very savvy and doesn't need some person to tell her not to fly or get on a cruise ship. But so many people in her age group and older actually need to be told.

Part of me believes Trump believes the virus is being used as a means to sabotage his economy so that he will not be reelected and hence his primary goal is to protect not "the economy" but "HIS economy".
I can’t help but to find it sad that any American... Especially the ones who hate Trump soooo much that they are fine with the stock market and the US/Global economy are crashing. Please tell me that we Americans are not that stupid, as a collective, to be happy that Trump’s or whomever’s economy is exploding all around us.

Seriously, who cares who gets credit for a strong economy?? I don’t since most productive Americans will feel the benefits for themselves, which includes the working class. It will also be the working class suffering a loss in wages when small businesses either have to cut hours or completely close down because the economy now sucks and they cannot survive.

Also, if you’re happy with millions of American’s retirement accounts being destroyed so you can say “Orange Man Bad,” you’re a pretty messed up human being. Since it will be our senior citizens who will be the ones to immediately feel this massive down turn in their monthly incomes, via the losses in their 401Ks and other investments that they are depending on to live out their final years.

Well, I truly hope that our senior citizens can weather out this short term chaos in the markets. I also hope that they use the money that they were “hoping” to leave their “adult kids” to make ends meet for themselves and take out reverse mortgages in order to fully enjoy their golden years to the fullest. And in great style since they earned it.

In the end, the markets will return back to normal or close to normal once things settle down, in the next few months, after the MSM finally stop spreading fear AND panic in a sorry attempt to take down Trump in 2020. It now looks like it will be “Beijing Biden” going against Trump in November. As for me, I have more faith in Trump being a better Commander and Chief/CEO than Biden, who can’t remember where he is half the time.

On a serious note, what has either Pelosi or Schumer suggested that we, the American people, do to better weather out this storm? Funny, but most if not all of our elected officials, on both sides, are pretty freaking quite and not rallying behind each other or offer any real leadership. The only elected officials I see working on anything is the President and the Vice President... Everybody else is MIA, to include Pelosi and Schumer.

...Sad.

In Iran, they've released thousands of inmates from their prisons/jails, for fear it will sweep thru their prisons/jails. Now this is one group of people that has been made happy with the coronavirus.

We know it spreads very easily compared to other infectious diseases and has a higher mortality rate and we lack vaccine, there is a good reason why these other countries take such severe measures. But here is yet another nugget from the internet insinuating we are overreacting, why do some people hate science and facts.
