Kuwait’s International Airport closes at midnight Friday for all commercial flights and no one except citizens returning may enter the airport. Additionally, all restaurants and cafes are closed for dining in, with takeout and delivery options allowed. Gyms, cinemas, wedding halls, the Friday Market and all areas for public gatherings remain close

I get that canceling large gatherings help stop spreading the virus. But that doesn't mean it will not pick up again once we are back to normal again. Right?
Yes,

I am thinking along the lines of worst case. Worst case is the virus becomes endemic and is always around.

Therefore, the only way to combat it is to get the greatest number of people exposed to it in a controlled setting so that they develop an immunity.

Then people who could show they have antibodies to the virus would be free to move around travel, and provide direct assistance without worry to those who are infected.

The social distancing is not expected to fully stop the virus, the idea is to slow it down enough to where the spread of the virus does not outpace the capacity of our healthcare system to provide proper emergency treatment for it. If we just let it grow exponentially unchecked, people will be dying on tarps in hallways.

Me too. I also want to know the story behind the test kit debacle.

True. Trump’s travel bans are also serving this good purpose.

Default Daily Mail: "In California, doctors have been receiving tests from the CDC that are missing crucial components"

What exactly is it that the CDC does again? Except stand en masse on stages with array pattern backdrops?

A partial travel ban alone is not going to do very much at this point. Is it better than doing nothing? Sure. Is it an important part of a comprehensive plan to stop the spread? No.
