Do you see how much hate and contempt exists on this board, how divided American society is? How much people are fighting over something as asinine as toilet paper on store shelves? This country needs to pull together right now, but if I were to judge America by the content of political discussion on these message boards, I'd say we are too egoistic, too lacking in social trust to do what is necessary to come out of this better people.

We have generation after generation stacked of Godless folks. People have rejected God and have no fear of him. Well guess what now they will get another fear. This thing is only starting. People need to turn back to God. Selfishness among folks is paramount to what is going on here. Everyone seeks pleasure for themselves. Obesity rate among adults is shattering. Even our young are fat.
We all deserve every little stich which comes our way. If you really trusted God would you really fear a mere virus. I don't care how old you are. Either put your trust in Jesus Christ or mankind. I have zero faith in mankind. Most folks on city data are clueless. They have no idea what is coming. The more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war.
There's fear in GOD-less people because they actually serve "the enemy" therefore all the hatred and the rest of the GOD-less garbage that goes along with it. When I was younger (about 45 - 50 years ago) this wasn't nearly as prevalant though there were other social issues at the time IMO.
You are right there are many who will continue the divide however, history shows us that disasters also bring out the best in us. We are Americans first and when needed we are there for each other.
Look at the recent past with tornados that have devastated areas and destroyed homes and neighbors and complete strangers step up.
Look how fast this country pulled together after 9/11.
There may always be a few bad apples in the basket but, we will be ok because we are stronger together and we know it.
Please don't judge America by this board. People vent their frustrations and opinions but, most are good people.

i would say that a virus does not distinguish between rich and poor and our health care is as good as its weakest link..as for a toilet paper craze.. hasn't anybody ever used a wash cloth? how stupid can you get?

I couldn't disagree more. I see people pulling together right now, sacrificing for the public good. Not because the federal government told them to; the gov't is worse than useless. But at the state, local and neighborhood level, we will defeat this thing. The conversations on this board are not how people behave face-to-face when confronted with a common threat..

There are millions buying up supplies, toilet paper even. The majority are calm, respectful and going about their business without infringing on another. The percentage of those fighting over TP miniscule. Those who buy up a huge supply to resell at ridiculous prices, now those are greedy imo.
There will always be selfish savages. The likes of those politicians who have bought up everything and stored it for years for themselves aren't out scurrying, they already have their bunkers/stores filled.
This board has always favored the more extreme right of politics and is not representative of reality.
The members post extreme right-wing view points that are considered to be racist and bigoted. If you attempt to point out their flaws with evidence, you will be censored and flamed openly.
