As the old saying goes, never let a good crisis go to waste. No better time to look to abuse Constitutional rights either. All in the name of a "crisis" or "emergency." Sound familiar? A police state authoritarian's wet dream. Where are all of the Constitutional conservatives on this one?
DOJ is seeking "emergency powers" to suspend habeas corpus and they want to be able to "indefinitely detain" individuals. This violates habeas corpus, the due process clause in the 5th and 14th Amendments, and the 6th Amendment as well. Hey, but who is watching, right?
History is replete with examples of this kind of power-grabbing garbage.
Pres. Obama agreed to give the military the power to arrest and hold Americans without the writ of habeas corpus, although he promised with that year’s signing statement that his administration would not abuse that privilege.
I was leaning toward having to vote for Trump. If he allows this to happen i would vote for a monkey before Trump. Yes, before you ask even Biden.
