Why not? Trump is being coddled for his failure to act.
Trump is causing Michigan to have a higher infection rate than surrounding states?

And moments like this, this is where credibility of a president is most needed as he explains what we should and should not do. This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia — hysterical xenophobia — and fear-mongering to lead the way instead of science.

hopefully, you've read my post about why that agreement was pulled back.

I think the ventilators will happen - from many angles. Dyson claims to be making 15K (probably for UK) but we will have similar stuff happen here. There are even designs that use simple plastic bags.

My point in this thread is just to illustrated that it COULD happen from the top if proper people were put in charge. It probably won't happen that way...or just partially will because at this point we are too far behind.

If I am not wrong the Feds haven't even shipped out most of the ones they HAVE. So if shipping is a logistics and distribution problem for them, I'd imagine manufacturing would be also.

Even with the Defense production act...I have to agree that won't make a difference UNLESS there is a really really competent team at the top. Not Pence, but a couple Generals and a couple CEO's and a couple genius inventors/generalists...ad in a team of young engineers (they are better at moving quickly) and it would happen.

But, honestly, who is going to organize that? I think a lot of the "best people" will stay closer to home at this point and steer their own course. It would take a real Leader to make it happen from the top down. That is not a cut on Trump, just rather that this is hard stuff. The Mac would never have existed without Jobs pushing harder and harder..and not only pushing, but getting into the details.

Trump is ordering 100,000 ventilators. That suggests the experts are expecting a staggering number of coronavirus cases by summer.

Yep. And it's taken more than 2 months to experience our first 100,000 cases, but at the present rate (and acceleration), we could easily see another 100,000 cases over the next week. This has dire implications for the hospital caseload, the hospital workers, and the patients.

I heard about this Governor. She sounds incompetent and wants Big Daddy government to do her job. Recall her!
