We desperately need those people to be at work dealing with the epidemic. Thus, we need hundreds of thousands of masks, gowns and gloves.

The proper response to a request for PPE is "YES!"

You went off on some BS conspiracy theory pushed by the media, that is not based in fact of any kind. This is an example of how malignant US politics has become, but facts should be more compelling than posturing. The only questions that need answering are:

1. Where is the PPE?
2. How fast can you get it to hospitals and first responders that need them?
3. How fast can we make more?

You have likely never heard of the person who can answer those questions. Don't be asking some politician.
You are right, they are supposed to change masks and gowns each person they see ideally. In this case the patients are asked to change masks every five patients if not hold onto them for an entire day or even week and the gowns are by the shift. Yet the hospitals are being blamed for a shortage and that doctors and nurses are hoarding them? I just don't get it...

Henry Schein says it has an antibody rapid blood test to detect for COVID-19 that delivers results within 15 minutes.

this is great because (like all antibody-based methods) it's so simple and fast, and can detect recovered exposures.

the drawback (again, like all antibody-based methods) is that it's less sensitive.

Social distancing is not to keep you from catching it, it's to keep everyone from catching it at once. As long as hospitals can handle the load, the mortality rate is only about 1%. If the hospitals can't treat all the patients, the mortality rate jumps.

There is nothing to stop the disease. Almost all of us are going to eventually get it. If only a third of the US catches it, that's a million dead. If the hospitals get overwhelmed, it could be 2 million dead.

More evidence that we are a society of clowns: Pot stores remain open and pot sales are through the roof.

Yeah, this is SERIOUS, gang!..............

All the testing in the world won't help unless the affected geographic area is quarantined. You simply can not let people come and go.

Oh wait...........we CAN let them come and go. And we are.
We deserve this.

I read about a woman who killed her 9 year old son and husband yesterday. Domestic tensions will be high.

You don't know what you're talking about. You heard some "EXPERT" say that "we are all going to get it" and you thought it sounded good . But you have no idea, and neither do they.

That's not an available response if there isn't that much available to give. Sometimes you just have to face the fact that normal procedures and protocols cannot be maintained at a pandemic level.

True, & it can be used to 'triage' for further more sensitive testing when indicated. & the more people tested the better. They're ramping up production to get it out there.
