2 days ago:

New Cases: +6,557

New Deaths: +793

Yesterday:

New Cases: +5,560

New Deaths: +651

Today:

New Cases: +4,789

New Deaths: +601
It is promising we over the last few days but we need to see more to determine if this is a trend. Hard to believe they had 58 new cases per day back on February 22 so almost a month to peak and then the downturn. We will see.

We are probably a month behind Italy so its good guide for where we will be in April.

Even in Iran, where there's no lockdowns, no duck and cover.

These things behave in ways 'scientists' can't really predict. People got infected in 1918 and 1606 and 2009 and whenever, and then they didn't.

Actually epidemiologists did predict that Italy would start to “flatten” about 2 to 3 weeks after the start of the lockdown. Right on schedule.

I have heard that the numbers coming out of Iran are less reliable.

The deaths have been decreasing too. Today, fewer cases and fewer deaths than yesterday. Yesterday, fewer cases and deaths than the day before. The trend is clear.

Awesome. So if we lock down the entire country - which, incidentally, we won’t do anyway because we are too selfish and myopic - then the end will be in sight in a few weeks after a lot of people die. This is great news.

This is actually very close to the pattern in Wuhan. I believe they have peaked. Since yesterday I have been predicting that we will be mainly through this here in the US. by mid-May —- if we stay the course and don’t give up on the lockdowns too soon.

Iran is closing alot of public gatherings, such as mosques or shrines... so it's not true they haven't taken measures to stop the spread of the virus. Also, they have lots of workers going around sterilizing everything they can. At least according to the stuff I've seen on Al-Jazeera.

Selfish would be plunging America into a depression for .5% of the population that would die from coronavirus no matter what we do. It would probably kill less than 1% when all is said and done, because there are better and more promising treatment opinions emerging by the week. A whole lot more people would die around the world from the disruption and chaos that would likely result from governments shutting down businesses at will. JPM and Goldman Sachs are saying this is already worse financially than 2008.

This is also an enormous power grab that sets a dangerous precedent for the future. Who knows what kind of occurrences they will try to use as an excuse to totally screw up our lives in the future. Voted for the wrong guy, whoops, we can't have that! Back to the gulags you go! That's where this is all headed, if the wrong people get in power in the not to distant future.

It looks like mid May is correct. As long as we stay the course.

The Iranians were attempting to break into houses of worship ignoring even the ayatollah but I also saw sterilization spraying in cities.

Each country is so different in their approach.
