Some people want the economy to crash because they think it will sink Trump's reelection.
Totally.
Plus, a lot of Democrats and the left in general, typically come at an issue from a victim perspective.
The longer this issue drags on, the more some of them can embrace victimhood, get government to take care of them, blame the president, blame republicans and generally cry and whine that life sucks because of x, y, z.
Also, social media is a dream platform for these folks--whine and complain central.
What is your objection to that question? It does not deserve such a prickly response.
It's a loaded question. It assumes everyone is upset about getting back to normal in its premise, which is BS. Many people just think the president is wrong to push this before we have even reached our peak yet.
If there is a way to open up the country and the cases and mortality rate continues to go down would you then agree it was a good idea?
Not here but it seems like people on FB seem to enjoy this. The unknown, not having to go to work.
On another note, do you agree closing down the border early on did help it not spread as fast.
You are misunderstanding the concern.
The medical experts on epidemics and pandemics agree that social distancing is key to disarming this enemy (Trump's analogy not mine).
Now Trump is saying he's not sure the cost of a slower economy is worth savings those lives.
Social distancing is the only way to slow the spread and death rate.
The 'open for business' and social distancing contradict each other.
We cannot expect to know -- only to make better-informed and intelligent choices; and we can't appoint censors to make those choices, because power and authority are addictive drugs, and lead us down the path of Fascism.
I cannot help the fact that a substantial minority can't tell the difference between reputable professional publications (which are harder to read and understand) and the trash in the pages of the National Douche Bag -- or whatever.
It's a loaded question. It assumed everyone is upset about getting back to normal in its premise, which is BS.
The title of the thread is "Why are some people so upset about getting back to normal?"
Not everyone. The only person resorting to such extremist, all or none type language here is you. And yet, at this point you are coming across as very possibly one of the people who the question is referring to.
If you have objections to this happening, what are they?
Some people want the economy to crash because they think it will sink Trump's reelection.
Bingo, they also want those who are more successful than them to suffer, and what better way to ensure most folks are suffering than an economy collapse? You also have those in the older generation actively rooting for the failure of the younger generations through this pandemic.
People actually want the world to end over a virus with a 97% survival rate.
