Yep, I wish people would wake up and realize both sides are doing the same thing, and tbey use division like blacks vs whites, gays vs straight, men vs women, and religions to keep us distracted from the fact we are getting screwed royally by both.
The Red versus Blue is the biggest division, and the most effective. This forum proves it. Just think if all the mental energy used to write these millions of posts was used instead to cull the top 1%.
True! Just look at all of the threads that go, the dems did this oh yea the repubs did that, and back and forth and so on and so on....
Trade deficits are necessary to maintain the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. They are a great net positive for us.
I'm okay with resonable trade deficits, but the deficit we have with China is not resonable, it's beyond irresponsible, and cost us Millions of jobs, and key manufactuers.
This is a result of the liberal Democrats' unfair trade agreements that have sent all of our manufacturing capacity abroad. Including manufacturing of medical supplies. If China needs these supplies of course they're going to help their own people first before exporting any.
*Both* parties have supported these trade agreements. Naturally, each party wants to convince its supporters that the other party is solely responsible.
Don’t be a useful idiot for any political party.
Corporations know that if they make their stuff here in the U.S., they will have to pay workers more, and will have to increase the prices of their stuff, since they don't have a money tree out back as you seem to think they do.
And they know that if they charge more for their stuff, nobody will buy it. The vast majority of people will buy at the lower price other companies charge, without regard for where it's made. So the corporation will have to make it in China too, or die.
Did somebody call someone "evil" for contracting overseas?
Do you now realize who exactly is committing that "evil"?
(Hint: Look in a mirror.)
Or to look at it another way:
Congress passes and Trump signs the $2T bill to provide aid, relief, supplies et. al.
He then allocates $1 million (could be $100 million, but I'll use this made-up number for now) to buy N95 masks, and orders some major Federal supply warehouse to order as many as it can for that amount.
They can either buy them from a U.S. manufacturer, in which case they might get 500,000 masks.
Or they can buy them from a reputable manufacturer in China (yes, there are a few reputable ones), and get 5 million masks.
As a result of getting 5 million masks, several thousand people who would have died (when 4,500,000 didn't get masks), stay alive because they all got masks.
Now, who do you suggest they buy masks from?
And what will you say to hysterical liberal fanatics who call you "evil" as a result?
In fact, prosperity will destroy the rulers in China within a generation.
In the long run the concepts of free markets, free men and free trade cannot be defeated.
We will destroy them from within.
There is no free trade in China.
Workers do not have freedom of speech where they can join together and organize for their best interests.
Big Business does it to their hearts content.
