You know good and well that such a broad reading is not what the poster was referring to when the media was brought up. And such a broad reading is not what people who rail against the media are talking about either. We are talking about the professional press/journalists. Not a government site pushing out communications statistics.

It may be the 3rd leading cause of death at the moment, but it may well be the primary cause of Trump's defeat in November. "Who knew healthcare was so hard or that sooo... many people would die".

As far as I know, every single person who dies with COVID is listed as a COVID death, no matter how close to dying they might have been from other causes.

That is a real problem, and overstates the epidemic's casualties.

As I understand things, the specifics behind labeling a death as being caused by Covid-19 are clear that Covid-19 may only be a contributing factor. As long as the CDC and others are transparent about that, I don't have a problem.
The "It'S JuSt ThE fLu br01!" people are looking more deranged everyday.
It's not the flu, which has vaccines and resistance in the general population.
Without isolation this would be on an umimaginable scale, well beyond that which countres are currently experiencing.
