Oh come on now.

The tone is set at the top.

In early March, Trump was deep into downplaying Corona- the first stage of grief is denial.

He was not concerned. Was comparing Covid to the seasonal flu and how nothing gets shut down for the flu. The Fox News Prime time hosts were in lock step with Trump.

It was not until mid March that the WH issued the 15 Day Plan to slow the spread and that plan did not initially call for social distancing.

DeBlasio and Trump’s public remarks in that timeframe have much in common.

NOLA allowed Mardi Gras to proceed as normal. The collegeSpring Breakers descended in Florida.

Covid- 19 does not discriminate. It don’t care about petty partisanship.

Let me think for a second who controls the CDC. Oh, yeah, it's the administration

That is true in absolute numbers. On a per capita basis it is a misleading remark and downplays the shortage of tests kits throughout the US.

Abbot Labs is starting production of simple blood tests and is projected to be able to produce 50,000 a week. It’s terrific news, albeit in a country of 325 million......

Per capita matters.

It takes time to manufacture tests. No we didn't have them sitting around on a shelf - that would be a waste since we have never had to endure something of this magnitude on a germ warfare level.

We are testing more and more people as time progresses. It will only get better as time moves forward.
As of March 29th Germany still had more tests done the US in total (which is also x4 per capita).

The numbers in terms of early testing are not even comparable, a lot of extremely valuable time was wasted.

Did a reporter ask him who was #1 on Facebook?

Has Trump shown any reluctance to shut down a line of questions he chooses to ignore.

The Covid-19 briefings have replaced Trump’s campaign rallies.

They are being used to rewrite history, his history of lousy messaging.

A month ago, Trump was deep into downplaying the virus, creating a false sense of security- you know 15 cases and soon to be zero.

Yes, the MEDIA has people convinced getting this Virus is a DEATH SENTENCE. It is nothing of the kind. Unless you are old, or otherwise health compromised you will most likely just get cold and fly symptoms.

Many reasons that NY is the current center, that will change but the fact that many states are weeks behind NY in taking strong measures in places like Texas and Florida. There are 5 states that haven't even issued shelter in place orders, so much for managing the rate.

For now, way too much noise about the lack of test kits and causes. Most seem to be filtered through political lenses. No city, county, state or country is prepared for a once every hundred years global pandemic.

Time enough for postmortems/ lessons learned, once the dust settles.

On 3/6, on his way to Mar-a-Lago for a weekend of golf and fund raising, Trump let loose with “ if you need a test, you can get a test”. This was within minutes of Pence announcing “ we don’t have enough tests”.

Just 8 days ago, 8 days ago, Trump was waxing poetically about wanting the economy to open back up by Easter Sunday. The WH subsequently had to once again clarify that it was an aspiration.

Trump did not cause Corona. Trump can’t control Corona. Trump can’t cure Corona
