The history in Florida has always been business and development take precedence the environment, that's is why we have red tides and green lakes and problems in the Everglades. Peoples health taking a backseat to the welfare of the population is expected.
That's changing... but true for most areas that are high on the list for transplants. California is an example of over reaction to your point.

I agree - we have enough with natural disasters. After each hurricane hits I pray people stop coming and continue building and ripping up our natural land and beaches. $& $. Maybe this virus will slow the developers for years

What,do you have a birthright to the entire state? Some native americans might like to have a word with you.
Open the beaches!
UV rays from the sun will kill the virus, people can stay 50 feet apart or whatever.
You're better off spending time outside getting fresh air and soaking up sun rays to increase your vitamin-D levels, than you're holed up inside your home.
Your post very closely mimics Republican US Rep Greg Murphy, but the information it dispenses is FALSE.
Sunlight will NOT kill the coronavirus.
Neither sunlight nor UV light is listed as a preventive measure on the websites of the WHO or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...us/2931170001/
Sun exposure does NOT kill the coronavirus
According to a recent Facebook hoax, all you need to cure the 2019 coronavirus is a little sunshine. There is no evidence that sun exposure kills the coronavirus, known officially as COVID-19. https://www.politifact.com/factcheck...l-coronavirus/
Sunlight will NOT kill the virus.
On its "mythbusters" webpage, the WHO says COVID-19 can be transmitted in all climates, "including areas with sunny and hot and humid weather."
Quote:
Republican Rep Murphy, in a video, in his scrubs next to a whiteboard said "sunlight actually can kill the virus." This claim has not been proven true.
His whiteboard mentioned UV light in sunlight. But experts claim the UV rays in sunlight aren’t intense enough to eradicate COVID-19.
We found no conclusive evidence that someone could prevent the virus by exposing themselves to the sun for long periods of time. And we found no evidence that sunlight exposure could help an infected person defeat the virus. We rate this claim False.

This is different than world war 2, explaining it would be a waste of time. There is no way to prevent bad behavior but we don't need to have governments support some lazy individuals that are incapable of a minor sacrifice.
You're proving my point "minor sacrifice." In WWII, civilians had to make a minor sacrifice by having to be frugal with the resources they did have, and turn the lights off by sunset, but that's about it (please no one jump on me and talk about people going off to fight, I'm not discounting that sacrifice, just focusing strictly on civilian life). Again, people could still gather, go exercise, kids could play games, even professional sports continued to a degree. For people out of work, now you're saying they can't go do anything, do you have any idea what kind of toll that can take on someone? This isn't like the recession where there was always the chance/hope of finding something and being hired tomorrow, it's just a drag where people LITERALLY have nothing else to do.

Good grief. Most of those links deal with exposing yourself to sunlight as a way of killing the virus within you, though some are a little vague, the one that includes the myth that "drinking hot water can protect you" goes toward that. While sunlight may not be intense enough to directly kill a virus like a germicidal lamp, a bright sunny surface isn't a good environment to support it either, the UVB of the sun does damage genetic material.

Did you read that in Huffington post or make that lie all up on your own? Is that Long Islands excuse too? Have you stopped running all your utilities and flushing your toilets yet?
