Another reason to manufacture and mine as much of our own supplies as we can. Love India but this is what happens when we buy into too much globalism and the lowest price for everything.

I know Indians....this is a move where they are wanting to get a payoff to release it. You just have to find their price point of corruption.

Trump again is proven correct over and over and over again.

Seems India is doing what were doing, there is a prior post on this board that the President ordered 3M not to export masks out of the country. https://www.city-data.com/forum/poli...ort-masks.html

Either that or they don't want to let go of critical supplies they may need for their own population. They're hardly alone in doing so.

At any rate, are we done yet with relying on foreign suppliers for our critical readiness? I suspect not.

Its due to their "India First" policy. They are quick learners, and they know dealing with Trump is a one way street.

As for Trump, his 'we can't trust anyone' is the old Soviet tactic to persuade the population that isolationist socialism is needed for our own protection.

Trump: "I'm from the government, and I'm here to protect you".

Yep, relying on the global supply chain in an emergency is extremely risky as we are now seeing.

By the way, India which takes anti malaria pills as a normal practice and is in a hot weather climate primarily, has less than 1 tenth of 1% deaths per million from CV-19 at this point in time.

So, we should maintain massive stockpiles of drugs to treat every tropical disease in existence (like malaria in this case), even thought we do not have tropical diseases..........

Who would pay for all that

The taxpayer of course. You are asking for socialism, and you don't even know it.

Smart move by India, they have a billion people to care for and that's the most promising treatment out there.
