Geezus...he couldn't get the equipment needed for hospitals, he ended up being outbid by the other states and the federal government so he's going to buy in such large quantities that he will be the biggest buyer -that's a perfectly legitimate strategy I would think that most people who support capitalism would appreciate that- it's not like he's making anyone give him the goods for free
We haven't had nearly the problems that NYC has had. He was doing like all governors, screaming for help. Not any problems here at all with not having beds and ventilators and all of that stuff.
California? Fifth largest economy in the world? Largest contributor to federal revenues by far? I think they'll manage all right. The US would be in dire straights though without their revenue.
Then why don't they just leave instead of blabbering about it. Seattle can go with it, too.
People are finally starting to understand how this country is actually supposed to be structured and run.
Each state its own... state. State, as in country, if you're talking about just about any other geographic region on earth.
Newsom is right. I'm not sure "nation-state" was the right term to use, but it illustrates the point very well. Each state is its own little country, with its own republican form of government, it's own three branches, and its own Constitution.
It's about time the left started understanding that. Glad it's happening, finally, but sad that it took a goon like Newsom to get them to understand/accept the idea. We've been screaming about it for years.
You left out ICBMs because it rendered your entire premise useless?
Got it!
I left them out for multiple reasons, like not every country having them, the ones that do have them have shown that in many instances are not reliable enough to be as accurate and long range as required, and as we have seen countless times, Russia has been escorted off the coast of the US in air and ocean settings on a regular basis.
It was logical to dismiss them as not being the bigger more likely threat, so no, you didnt get it.
I mean does CA not make up like 2/3 of the entire border of the west coast?
Don't know what you two are arguing about, but no, it doesn't. Alaska is up there, taking up quite a lot of coastline, don't forget. Unless you're just talking about the lower 48, I don't know. But don't forget about Alaska...

I was talking about attacking the main land, so no Alaska isn't part of that conversation. Not saying Alaska doesn't matter, but its not a path to the lower 48
Newsom is the "leader" of the state I live in. In several press conferences, as of late, he keeps saying, "California is a nation state." I laugh, as I typically do at him.
He's up to something.
He also repeatedly uses the following terms: "lean in," "meeting this moment," "in this space," "nation state," "our partners," "we have leveraged," "we can do better," "we can leverage our resources" and on and on and on. It's a bunch of words to say absolutely nothing.
He's a loser and full of himself. He comes out in his black jacket or coat, with the collar pulled up. His hair slicked back and all GQ. Does he have any idea how ridiculous he looks?
Yesterday he pinky promised to give illegal immigrants "unemployment" (already promised them free health care, which they're getting), all the while scr*wing us average folks. You know Newsom, the ones who pay taxes.
Today, he was blathering on about helping the LGBTQ homeless youths. They'll never see anything from him. Again, a lot of words that mean absolutely nothing.
Wow, you people just don't get it.
Can't you see that the governor is positioning himself for a presidential run in 2024?
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
His being governor is just a stepping stone for higher aspirations. I felt that the day he announced he was running for governor.
Come back to this posting in 2023, and see if I am right.
I say I am.
I've felt that since at least early in his first term as Mayor of San Francisco.
Harper's Bazaar magazine did a spread on Newsom and his then wife Kimberly (who's now dating Donald Trump Jr.) in their September 2004 issue called "The New Kennedys".
I have no idea what you're talking about at this point. Nothing to do with Newsom, I'm pretty sure.
Did you even comprehend the posts you posted?
Never mind, we know you did not.
