With all these companies in the food industry getting relief bailouts, it is refreshing to see someone taking the initiative to keep their business and employees going on with no outside relief. Herschel Walker has always been a class act both on and off the field.
The former University of Georgia Heisman Trophy winner is founder and CEO of Renaissance Man Food Services Inc. (RMFS). The meat processor, headquartered in Dublin, Ga., sells poultry products to various hotels and restaurants through supplier partners. But with those business shuttered, the company is looking to develop new revenue streams. RMFS is focused on finding ways to keep serving its customers in order to maintain — especially with no guarantee to receive loan money from the Payment Protection Program, which officially ran out of money on April 16.
“We deal with a lot of banks but when stuff like this happens, banks forget about you,” Walker told Atlanta Business Chronicle. “They make it very difficult to even talk to them. I have people that are calling (for relief) and doing all that, but we’re not sitting around waiting for that. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, we have to be prepared to keep going because I know all my employees got families. They got to eat.”
He should go for it. Everyone should. That money is being handed out regardless and its going to devalue whats already out there. Meaning he needs more than he has now just to break even. Not to mention he has been robbed his entire working life by way of taxation and now has an opportunity to get some of it back.

See, that is what all businesses should do instead of expecting huge bailouts. Instead of sitting around and waiting for someone to do something for him, he's coming up with ideas TO DO FOR HIMSELF/HIS COMPANY.
Just start selling chickens to the consumers directly.
Chick-Fil-As are all closed in, NYC/LI instead of staying open like other chicken places like PopEyes.
They can set up roadside stands where permitted, and just sell some fresh/live chickens.
They can undercut the supermarkets that are still open for business.
