The truth is in the middle and has nothing to do with any liberal/conservative issue.
The past in this country has made many people of African descent distrustful and rightfully so. There are people still alive today that can recall a time when it was difficult to receive proper medical care due to their skin color. Not to mention, studies have shown that disparities still exist in treatment. For example, people of African descent are less likely to receive needed pain medications and are left to suffer more while Whites are receiving those prescriptions. There are some systemic issues within medicine that may negatively impact people of African descent and certain other minorities.
On the other hand, underlying conditions do matter as well and contribute to the impact that the virus has. The Surgeon General was correct and some people, including Corbett, need to stop crucifying him for telling the truth. He and Fauci are trying to strike a delicate balance. Both are trying to make the public aware about the seriousness of this virus while not creating widespread panic, all the while working with a leader who has sent mixed messages.
In terms of behaviors, the Surgeon General simply encouraged those who are more vulnerable to take extra care to refrain from smoking, drinking etc. Nothing more. Nowhere did he say that “black” people engage in those behaviors more than, for example, whites - they do not. Statistically “black” people engage in those behaviors less but those behaviors place people of African descent at greater risk when coupled with more dense living areas and underlying conditions.
Lastly, people of African descent have mixed views on the pandemic. Others are not that skillful that they can influence the entire African-descended population of the U.S. to hold the same perspective of the virus. So please spare the us the dramatics and simplistic assessment.
OP Title: It's Sickening & Disgusting How Liberals Have Poisoned Blacks To Be Fearful & Hateful Of Whites
It's not helpful to perpetuate the unhealthy obsession (& compulsion) about what Black folks are doing, period, full stop. Engaging, or actively participating in a nice hobby would be more productive & beneficial, not to mention healthier on multiple levels.

Now this is helpful ~ a sober, reality-based pov, thanks & respect!
I'm brown and I too find the whole thing ridiculous.
We can move on from the past (slavery) but it seems liberals (who wanted to keep slavery alive, leading to a civil war) and the liberal media never want people to forget, while twisting the facts of history.
What an odd thread. How can anyone in their right mind argue that it was not the many white racists and bigots that made many blacks fearful and hateful of whites?

That's what Fox News does - rots your brain to the core.
