It's a crappy situation, to be sure. There's no safe way out of it. We can keep from completely destroying the economy, though. I just don't get why so many are intent on seeing THAT get flattened

.
It is political strategy of the lefties to kill the economy

May 13, Texas had 1,636 new cases, a record high.
May 15, Texas has 2,012 new cases, smashing the record set just 48 hours prior.
This surge of new cases will result in a surge of new deaths in about 10 to 14 days.

The rush to reopen is and will take its toll in human suffering and death, there is no denying that.

The right wing is politicizing the pandemic, trying to make it into right vs. left. It isn't political, it's reason and science versus ignorance and uninformed populism.

Science doesn't care what you think. Ignore the science, pay the price.
You still can't predict the future !!! Your data is incomplete and misleading !!! That's the science !!!

You're politicizing the pandemic is more predictable !!!

You willfully ignore the science of economics where people that are at risk of losing their business, home, apartment, car and the ability to feed their family.

Don't give me this "it's just the right wing politicizing this" BS

I don't agree with some of their stuff but if you're unaffected, affluent etc. maybe consider the diversity of people that are struggling and especially consider all those illegal families that you used to be concerned about and stop and realize that they didn't get a stimulus check nor unemployment.

Are you sure?

“Palm Beach County, FL reported a 71% increase in new cases the last 7 days compared to the previous 7 days,” the document explains. “The state authorized Palm Beach County to begin Phase 1 of reopening on 11 May, which includes the reopening of barbershops, salons, restaurants, and other businesses.” -- Dep't of Homeland Security, May 15

The statement that a "rush to reopen" will cause more infections and deaths is not my opinion. I'm just echoing what a consensus of scientists and medical professionals say. The more people are allowed to congregate in proximity the faster the virus spreads. That's not political theater, it's basic science, and it's common sense.

The only "political theater" is being done by those who cast aside science for whatever agenda they have
Stop throwing the word “science” around as if you have any understanding of it. It’s ridiculous. Honestly.

If there was 300K new cases in Texas tomorrow, and none of them needed hospitalization, it would be a good thing for the state....so throwing out the total new cases numbers is just propaganda intended to stir up irrational fear.

The vast, vast majority of cases are treated at home with OTC meds.....and that's not even including the large number of people who catch it but never get sick or sort of get sick, but it's so mild they don't really notice it.

Thus far nothing has happened in Texas that would warrant the state being shut down. There was at one point a fear that the healthcare system would be overwhelmed, but those fears proved completely ridiculous so things are opening back up.

Just went to the Macy's here in Houston on Saturday afternoon. Also Academy and HEB (grocery). Lots of people in all three stores.

The people of Texas are moving on from this. As a result of seeing the people in states like Texas, Georgia and Florida out living their lives, the people in the rest of the states are not likely to stand for these leftist-imposed lockdowns elsewhere for very much longer.

Why would the leftists, who have to live with the same economy as you and everybody else in this country, want to kill it?

Because they want to gain political power and they believe their only way to do so is to cause harm to the economy and the people. They plan to get rid of the bad orange man by increasing the pain and suffering of the poor and then using them for political ads. Anything good for the country is bad for Democrats, anything bad for the country can be used to benefit Democrats.

You've already seen them start. Democrats prevent people from working, then run ads about unemployment as if it was not their fault.

They don't have a competent candidate for president, so this is a desperation move.

Here are four reasons:
  1. Leftists live by their emotions, rather than by principles or by their brains.
  2. Leftists are all about dominating and controlling others. They need people who are desperate, dependent, afraid and confused in order to get them to submit to such an agenda
  3. Leftists in the US are pathologically obsessed with trying to "get Trump". There is no collateral damage or harm that is too much, no price too high or no cost too great. They truly have lost their minds.
  4. If they cannot control and dominate the people of our nation, then that is such an intolerable rebuke to the Democrat left that they pretty clearly would rather see it destroyed. And they are currently working right out in the open trying to do it.
