Two guys tonguing each other in public, cool. One can even wear an organdy chemise and they can be "married."
Bunch of women in hairnets and Little House on the Prairie dresses? Not cool. They're like mormons, after all...
Wouldn't be civilized.
Load of crap. Civilzed means allowing almost everything happen so long as it is the individuals choice. And then respecting that choice. But it won't happen because too many people don't want to be around people who are drastically different.
If Gay marriage becomes legal in The US, what else will come next? Polygamy? Incest?
It is strange People are really doing it backwards. Raising the marriage age and welcoming gay marriage. Can you see something wrong there? But that is what happening in today.
i had to read your profile and carefully read your thread. you have done some good threads. ok so this is a post advocacy for gay marriage. ok. but i do not equate socially advanced = gay marriage. many of the countries you listed have a very poor civil rights history. nor do i view gay as some sort of social superiority, not to detract from the fact that many gay people are very bright and talented.

Lost me here who raised the age of marriage? And by welcoming gay marriage do you mean that's not a good thing because while our politicians may welcome it it doesn't mean people will.
Some states u were able to get married at age 15, but they been raising it the last few decades. But the defination was still the same one man (or teen boy) to one woman (or teen girl). Instead of raising the minimum age to get marriage, people should be more worried about Gay marriage.

I'm still not really following, why should the age of getting married still be 15? And why should we be so worried about gay marriage? I'm glad that it's legal here :-)

Take a look down in Texas plenty of incest and polygamy going on under the auspices of the Christian church.

That's a little overstated, don't you think?..I mean, it DID happen...but PLENTY?...under the "auspices" of the Christian Church? hmmmmm.
I GUESS so...but if THAT'S true, what's going on under the "auspices" of Islam? How about the "auspices" of those of the "atheist faith"?
Your statement was a little far-reaching, IMHO. I happen to believe in Christ, and there sure isn't any incest or polygamy happening under MY "auspices". Let's be careful of whom we assign guilt for these things..just a suggestion, in the interest of clarity.

Hmm...why do you propose we worry about gay marriage?
