I don't care if Trump does this. Let all his supporters gather for church, let Trump make his rallies essential too.
Just remember all this when a future Democratic president throws federal authority over the states the way Trump has because the whole "state's rights" thing has died with Trump.
Trump motivating his supporters to gather in large numbers is perfectly fine IMO. No one is forcing them to, it's their choice and whatever results is entirely on them and Trump.
None of the churches I know are opening back up. Ours isn't. Many are doing Zoom services or live-streaming. That seems to work for a lot of folks for now. We are also talking about having outdoor services at some point soon, which would also be a good interim solution.
Governors were/are overriding the rights of the people. Some governors locked the doors of all churches so that one individual cannot even step inside. Services should be allowed with guidelines followed. The DOJ should sue over this. Liquor stores are essential but churches are ordered locked? Gimme a break. I don't attend church but understand that people find comfort in being able to be inside of a church, especially after a huge loss in life. Large corporations like Walmart can be packed with people, but my small neighborhood stores are closed? This is all screwed up.
I live in a very small town in a red state, and I don't know of any of the stores that are closed in my area that I'm aware of. Maybe some of the gift shops? I dunno. I just go by what people tell me, since I haven't gotten out myself to see.
This is a political move...Trump knows that Dems are the party of the anti-christ/anti-god/athiests and agnostics.
Those who call themselves independents will have to choose a side here, and I'm betting that the Indies will side with Trump on this one.
Dems should stick to their political guns....continue denouncing god, and stay in your homes, lock the doors and collect unemployment checks.
