Typhoid Mary only had herself to blame.
After initially being released she was warned not to work with food ever again however she ignored the warning and was therefore sent back to quarantine on North Brother Island.
She also refused to have her gallbladder removed, as the gallbladder (and gallstones) are the areas that mainly carry the diseases in such typhoid carriers.
Whether the authorities should have just removed her gall bladder against her will rther than incacerate her for the rest of her days is debateable, however she was given a number of opportunities and warnings, and her selfish attitide sdadly cost numerous peoples lives.
