Honestly whether it was a fear for him and his family or if someone in his staff suggested it, who cares. It could have been scary. And so what.
Yes he was trolled for going to the bunker once it 'leaked' (and once again -- who leaked it or did they want us to know and didn't anticipate the fallout)........ BUT......so what.

I guess it depends what "media" your read. At some point over the weekend I heard: Secret Service moves Trump to bunker on Friday evening citing safety concerns.
So was that bad to report? What is wrong with it?

In October, 1968 Trump was given another military medical exam because they were getting ready to draft him. Trump says he produced a letter from a doctor. During that exam, the military doctor classified him as 1-Y, a deferment for a minor medical aliment, which Trump says was bone spurs.
If no one had been in that bunker for a long time, I'd want to check it out to make sure it was clean, didn't smell musty, didn't have spiders. Wouldn't you?
The President has to be protected. I'm surprised uneducated Loony Leftists don't know that. Can you imagine if BO's life was threatened and Fox News made fun of him for following the Secret Service's orders?

Put your big pants boy on and come up with a plan of action to address the systemic racism in the country that is at the core of this chaos.
So the focus is not ona solutionf or the obvious racism that is pervasive and causing national wide protests......and instead bicker if it was pepper spray or tear gas -- either way it was meant to irritate. Whether it was because someone threw something (which no video evidence and all kinds of camers, phones, etc. all around......or whatever and now this bunker thing.
