Anyone with any public visibility that is promoting the defunding of Police Departments, or privately promotes or funds such an outcome, should be forced to live where there are no Police.
They cannot be allowed to advocate for an outcome that will lead to trauma and deaths for helpless people, but not be made vulnerable to that outcome themsleves.
The alternative is not more money for police training programs, hardware or oversight. It is to dramatically shrink their function. We must demand that local politicians develop non-police solutions to the problems poor people face. We must invest in housing, employment and healthcare in ways that directly target the problems of public safety. Instead of criminalizing homelessness, we need publicly financed supportive housing; instead of gang units, we need community-based anti-violence programs, trauma services and jobs for young people; instead of school police we need more counselors, after-school programs, and restorative justice programs.
These are great talking points that mean absolutely nothing. I actually know a man who is in the gang unit with HPD. He was a former gang member himself. He knows the streets and how to connect with these kids and help them get on a better path in life. How are a bunch of social workers going to replace that? And who would want to?
And wtf is a restorative justice program? Sounds like a bunch of programs to throw money at that will do absolutely nothing for the community.

Hollywood is very woke industry and is part of the left. Policing is a problem not only for blacks but for all Americans exactly. As for celebrities. They can pay for security attachment to protect them, while you plebs can not. Defunding police departments is not the right answer. Why don't Hollywood put thier money where there mouths are and pay bails for black and brown people in prison in Los Angeles.
If these liberals were consistent then no police is better than fewer police. Then they should also close the court system and let all those in prison out. Let Ca. try it and we can watch and see what happens.

You're involved with one of the groups that has been rioting, aren't you? A Bernie Bro also? The reason I'm asking is because you want everyone to have an easy life at the taxpayers expense.
How can you want the police force shrunk and defunded but in the next sentence care about public safety? And exactly what does housing, unemployment and healthcare have to do with public safety? Law enforcement (the police) is public safety. And exactly where do you fit in all this...are you one of the givers (taxpayers) or a taker (someone that doesn't work and lives off the givers)?
