Excerpt:
Violent crime and poor education is not the only problem for Democratic-controlled cities.
Because of high crime, poor schools and a less pleasant environment, cities are losing their
economic base and their most productive people in droves.
Response: New York City comes to mind over and over and over again...

Facts, your being generous. Rereading the piece this morning lets look at what he is commenting on he picks most of the more populated cities but significantly seems to skip the Deep South, The Plains States and the Northwest. What he has chosen is all the cities that saw/continue to see significant white flight during the post war years where the middle class along with the industry left town leaving cities that were struggling economically just to survive.
He points out "It turns out that blacks, like whites, want better and safer schools for their kids and don't like to be mugged or have their property vandalized. And like white people, if they have the means, black people cannot wait to leave troubled cities." As he appears to be commenting on current times all this point out is that any individual with the financial means is choosing to leave the cities for the suburbs but for blacks that wasn't always an option in the first decades after the war.
He states "According to Statista, this year, 172 whites and 88 blacks have died at the hands of police." that means that 13% of the population has had 33% of the deaths for black citizens and the year is not over yet.
Although he has selectively picked most of the poster children for declining cities and pointing out the leadership that represents them he gives no examples of "successful cities" or cities that are "Republican run". If your trying to prove a point wheres that comparison? Or is it the same situation in similar size cities where the the GOP is in charge? He states "Democratic-controlled cities have the poorest-quality public education despite their large, and growing, school budgets." where are the examples of Republican controlled cities with quality public education?
So I'll stand by my original comment that this is just an OPED piece from a right leaning news source.
Another conservative news source and an OPED piece to boot, what a surprise.....
That article was full of facts, including the poor performance of students in Democrat-run cities. You couldn’t refute any of these facts, or the point being made behind it, so you attack the messenger as being a conservative news source.
Who ELSE would point out the failings of Democratic leadership in Dem cities? The liberals? That would require placing blame on liberal policies, rather than what they want to FALSELY blame: so-called “systemic racism.”
Gee, Trump has had almost 4 years to fix this problem, and what do we have ? Looting, burning, and mayhem.
Yeah, those Republicans really do fix things, don't they ?
