Governor, Florida surgeon general urge Floridians to take action to slow the spread and protect the vulnerable

TALLAHASSEE — As the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaches, Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida surgeon general are reminding all Floridians to protect the vulnerable by avoiding the Three Cs: Closed Spaces, Crowded Places and Close-Contact Settings and by wearing a mask in public:
Funny in the thread asking if you'd run over protesters that people were shamed for thinking like that but it's alright to wish people die of Covid - shows how irrational the far left is.
Reread my post again...s.l.o.w.l.y... I never stated I wished anyone to die of COVID. However, at this point, after trying all other attempts to convince those who refuse to wear a mask such as education, the fear that catching the coronavirus may be the only method that will get through to some very hard heads out there.

That's not a maks mandate from the Florida Gov. He suggests it. Half the people in Florida don't wear masks because it's not mandated. The Florida Gov doesn't have the guts to mandate masks. Maybe he'll eventually change his mind. The economic impact to Florida is devastating. Sounds like he might be inching closer to a mask mandate. Let's hope.

Good. This is right message.
Unfortunatly the mixed messaging from the WH continues:
The White House repeatedly denied the CDC permission to brief the public on the coronavirus, report says
The CDC was denied permission by the White House to brief the public on the coronavirus crisis, a source at the agency told Yahoo News.
The CDC found itself unable to do public briefings for three months, beginning not long after a senior official warned in late February that the virus was likely to hit the US hard.
At the time, this was a sharp contrast with predictions from President Donald Trump, who argued that the coronavirus did not seriously threaten the US.
Between March 9 and June 12 there were no CDC briefings. In that period, Trump increasingly led communications on the virus, spreading false claims and touting unproven cures.
Six weeks after reopening most businesses, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez began closing some again and announced a 10 p.m. curfew starting Friday as the county’s COVID spread worsens and hospitalization rates hit new records.
Gimenez announced Thursday evening a reversal of his most recent reopenings, and said he was closing casinos, strip clubs, movie theaters and other entertainment venues allowed to open through a June 4 order. It’s not clear how many businesses will be impacted by the announced curfew. The mayor’s office said commuters are exempt, as are essential workers. A spokeswoman also said restaurants can continue delivering food once the curfew takes effect.
Florida shy of single day record, but adds nearly 9,500 new COVID-19 cases and 67 deaths
Florida’s Department of Health on Friday confirmed 9,448 additional cases of COVID-19, falling shy of Thursday’s record-breaking 10,109 single-day record. The state’s total confirmed cases hit 178,594.
For the second consecutive day, there were also 67 new deaths announced Friday, bringing the statewide death toll to hit 3,684. The statewide non-resident death total remains at 101.
Listen to today's top stories from the Miami Herald:
Florida & Texas will never catch up to New York and New Jersey for deaths per capita. It's not even close. Cases do not mean squat, kind of like the popular vote!
8 of the 10 most deadly states for C-19 per capita remain Democrat. Own it.

Exactly. And did anyone else notice how the lying media/Democrats no longer talk about deaths? Now they bleat about new cases.
Who cares about "new" cases? They have been there ALL ALONG but we didn't have the testing capacity to discover them.
The fact is this virus is losing its potency just like it has in every other part of the world. The Democrats don't want this to be true, but it is. Every word out of every liberal's mouth about the virus is politically motivated and dishonest.
