In an exclusive interview published in USA Today this evening, Bolton describes Trump as a corrupt politician who constantly ties legitimate state interests to his personal interests. Even a vile person like Bolton said he would have voted to impeach Trump were he a senator, given what he knew about the explicit political quid pro quo articulated by Trump in the Ukraine affair. He further describes working in the Trump administration as being like inside a pin ball machine. Hilarious. Enjoy: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ne/3192006001/

Bolton would at least be credible if he decided to testify to these things during the impeachment trial. Yet, he decided to wait so he could make money off of a book (the proceeds of any sales are going to be confiscated anyway), showing how much of a slime bucket (and untrustworthy one, at that) he truly is.

Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina says he wished former national security adviser John Bolton would have testified before Congress — nearly five months after he voted against calling new witnesses to testify for President Donald Trump's impeachment trial.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about the whole thing.

So I thought Bolton had the goods on the Prez, seems it was all talk and conjecture. He used Schiff’s moves but will make millions.....

"I think I probably would have" voted to convict, Bolton said, "although, honestly, we still don't know everything there is to know about Ukraine. A lot of conduct can be reprehensible without being impeachable."

I can't stand the guy. Bolton is a warmonger who got us into the Iraq war. He couldn't testify because then why would anyone buy his book I do believe everything in his book is true. Isn't Bolton revered by conservatives though. He's been a conservative all his life. Trump just became one.

Of course, I'm not surprised that Business Insider would make that point, which is a disingenuous and silly point. Tim Scott and other Senators explicitly voted against new witnesses precisely because the House explicitly decided to not call any more witnesses (or seek court order to compel their appearance, like in the case of Bolton), and instead wanted to rush to wrap up impeachment. The point of Scott and others was that the Senate wasn't going to do the House's job for them.

Bolton is a dangerous fool. Granted, I liked his role as UN Ambassador under Bush (when Bush appointed him via the Senate's recess), but that's because that job was all bark and no substance (and I liked him sticking it to the UN). But having him in actual positions where he would influence national security and war policy such as National Security Advisor (under Trump) and Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs (under GWB) was disgraceful. I like Trump, but it was a bad decision to put Bolton in any such position. He is a warmonger for sure.

Why is Bolton accusing Trump of copying the Clintons' crooked tactics?
